Hello, Im interested in the WiiM Pro as a solution for streaming in my Appartment.

I have home a 15 inch, Alto Pro 415 speaker that Ive always used only as a sub. In my previous set up, it was plug to a 10 band EQ that got its audio directly from my mac 3.5 mm out.

Now, I mainly listen to music all over the appartement with my google nest speakers, with the TV as well ( using google TV )

The last piece of the puzzle is my big Alto 15 inch, that id like to send audio directly via steam. With this WiiM Pro. ( as I would add in the group so they all play together )

My main question is:

Is the digital Eq ( app controled ) in the WiiM working as well when its a Spotify Google cast stream?

Or is the EQ limited only for the physical inputs ( bluetooth , optical, line in )

Because if this WiiM Pro lets me EQ the Google Cast streams from Spotify. Il be able to kill all the mids and highs to only send low frequency to my Alto Pro speaker.

Thank you!

Hi

Yes.
EQ settings can be adjusted for each input individually. Select Ethernet, then adjust the EQ and save your settings. This also applies to Spotify Google Cast.

This is perfect then. I wont need to buy a new physical EQ ( Planet Audio ) like I had.

Less is more ^^

Does the EQ stays permanent on the Input?
Meaning, every time Il cast all over the appartment, the audio to the Alto 15 will keep the EQ settings ive set to that Ethernet / Wifi input?

No need to re-eq it every time it receives?

@jcmyraudio

The Pro PEQ includes a low-pass filter, so if you want to cut mid-high frequencies, you can select "LP" and set the high-cut frequency.

Yes, the EQ settings will be preserved unless you reset Pro. However, I recommend saving a screenshot of the EQ screen to prevent data loss.🙂

A screen shot? Meaning a printscreen of the iPhone with the EQ on the screen?

You cant save in-app the setting for that input ( and export it as a file ( .wiim )?

Yes.

For GEQ, save the graphic settings.

For PEQ, save the values for the 10-band filters.

Currently, it's not possible, but according to the WiiM team, they are currently developing import/export functionality.

Do I copy your EQ?
Or go with something like this?

In Pro, you can layer EQ over the RoomFit profile. Use RoomFit to perform room correction and achieve a flat response, then use EQ to adjust the sound to your preference.

Copy.

Il remove the EQ ive already to set after opening it to kill highs and fly my Alto into a sub.

I have to say, that it works liiiiiikeeee flawlessly with the other google stuff i have all together. It was the missing link of the puzzle.

Now its been like a whole year i didnt use it. Its loud, for 15 inch sub. My neighbors gona hate it now 😂

You probably don't need to boost the sub with EQ. (It can cause distortion.)

After matching the volume levels of the Nest speakers and the sub, try running RoomFit and then fine-tuning based on the response you get.

Enjoy! 🤗

@jcmyraudio

When you run RoomFit, a profile is created on the RoomFit screen. Tap the edit icon in the list to edit the 10-band filter.

Here, you can apply an LP filter using a single band and set the crossover.
