Wiim Sound stereo pair not staying connected

I have just purchased two Wiim Sounds to migrate over from Sonos. I have had these for a few weeks and I am pretty happy with them. The one problem I am having is that I can't get the stereo pair to stay connected. I have to continually group the two speakers in my living room and assign them left and right for the stereo pair. This is getting very annoying and I don't know how to set this pair of speakers as a permanently paired group. I have tried to do the groups option at the top of the devices page but I either do not know what I am doing or it is not working. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can keep a stereo pair permanently matched. I want these two speakers to permanently act as one stereo pair. Thank you in advance.

Do you know what's causing the pair to separate?
Could it be when they go into standby?
Maybe try settting that to Never for both of them.

I do not know what is causing them to unpair. I use it one day. I come back later that day or the next day and have to go through the steps again.
Thank you for the suggestion, I will try that and report back.

As far as I know, there are two main reasons why stereo pairing gets disconnected.

1. When you play music or switch inputs on the follower device.

2. When you select a single device using Spotify Connect.

Do either of these ring a bell?

I ended up doing a factory reset on both units.

Set them both up & then set them up as a group.

Seems to have sorted it 🤞 - had no issues for the last 24 hours

This did not work. I put both speakers to where they would not go into stand by. The pair was still together yesterday. Today when I came home and started my music the left (main) speaker was working and nothing was coming out of the right speaker.

1. No I do not do anything with the follower device. I do switch inputs from WIFI streaming to Bluetooth occasionally but it is done with the remote that is connected to the main speaker.
2. No, I have not selected a single device. I have them named differently and it was my understanding that with the paired speakers I would just select the main speaker and they should both be paired.

I can definitely try to do a factory reset and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi @NoCoastKansas,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

Our team will work to reproduce the issue as soon as possible and identify the root cause.

In the meantime, please help with the investigation by sending feedback through the WiiM Home app: go to MoreFeedback. Once received, our engineers will review it promptly.

Do you use Spotify?

As you mentioned, with sources other than Spotify, casting to the main speaker will play in stereo pair. However, with Spotify Connect, you need to connect to a group.

If you use Spotify, we recommend creating a persistent group.

I can definitely try to do a factory reset and see if that fixes the problem.
It's worth trying, but please submit a ticket first. Since resetting will erase your device logs, I recommend submitting a ticket as soon as possible after the issue occurs. Your device logs will be included in the ticket.

No I mainly use Tidal but also listen to Mixcloud. I switch to Bluetooth so that I can listen to DJ's on Twitch. I did create a group for those two speakers as well.

It is just weird to me, I fix/paired the speakers again on Sunday. It worked all day Sunday and Monday. I got home from work Tuesday and it was a single speaker playing again. Go through he steps again to pair them and set the L and R. This morning it is working great while I am getting ready to leave the house.

I had this issue with two Sounds.

It seemed as though this mesh network may have been part of the problem. Do you have one that is broadcasting the same SSID on a 2.4, and another on a 5 ghz band?

One Sound was close enough to a router to get 5 ghz. The other was on the 2.4 ghz band.

Possibly, I will try to check that. I have an Eero mesh system. One transmitter is in the basement under the speakers and one is in the bedroom next to the living room they are in. I would think they are on the same bandwidth. How would I check that?

In the Network Status screen in the wiim app.
You can even click on the Access Point entry to choose a new point, but it's not permanent. It may change on a reboot.
