The LED on the top panel lights up when a hand approaches, triggered by the motion sensor. If this does not work properly, try unplugging the power cable and restarting the device. If the LED still does not light up, please try performing a factory reset.I purchased a Sound this weekend. It's works great but the controls on the top panel don't light up. They work but you can't see the buttons. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Yes, the WS doesn't have that toggle. There used to be a menu option to turn off the status light for the Sound, and that stopped the panel from lighting up.
Did that disappear recently, or have I just not looked in the right menu?
I thought it was on tbe main Device Settings page, so no longer an option?
Edit: Seems it's only the Sound Lite that has this option.
This issue is likely caused by third-party software—such as Home Assistant—sending an HTTP command to turn off the LED.I purchased a Sound this weekend. It's works great but the controls on the top panel don't light up. They work but you can't see the buttons. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
So the Sound could have this menu option like the Sound Lite does then....This issue is likely caused by third-party software—such as Home Assistant—sending an HTTP command to turn off the LED.
Please check whether your system is issuing the LED_SWITCH_SET:0 command.
Alternatively, you can submit feedback through the WiiM Home App. We can then push a firmware update to your device that ignores this command, which should resolve the issue.
If it's set to "0," does the LED turn off completely? Or does it just turn off this Status Light toggle? Please check whether your system is issuing the LED_SWITCH_SET:0 command.

It’s probably because the WS doesn’t have a status light. So the Sound could have this menu option like the Sound Lite does then....
So why doesn't it?![]()
