WiiM Ultra advertises itself as Airplay target. Why? This is nonsense or a bug that must be resolved!

My two WiiiM Ultra devices are offered as Airplay targets on Apple devices like iPhone and Mac. If one selects one thereof to play music, of course nothing is played via the respective Wiim Ultra, since it is not capable, for the sad reason we know.

It makes no sense at all that a WiiM Ultra can be selected as Airplay target, and the advice not so select it will hardly be understandable for persons not familiar with the shortcoming of the WiiM Ultra.

I think the this advertising of the WiiM Ultras is a bug that should be resolved in good time. Or did I misunderstood something?

Do you have screenshots of where the Ultras are being offered as AirPlay targets and of the advertising that says that?

Those must be very special iOs devices. None of mine show the Ultra as an AirPlay receiver. I suspect you are confuing AirPlay with GoogleCast and using a player app that supports Googlecast.

Or Bluetooth…

Hallo,
thank you for considering and responding to my post.
The two Ultras are shown in the normal Airplay menu within Apple Music on iPhone. The headline says Airplay so that I concluded that the two WiiM Ultra devices advertise themselves as Airplay targets.
Or are Bluetooth targets shown here as well?

Reconsidering this, it might be indeed that also targets of other protocols are shown under "Airplay", since I doubt that the two old Squeezebox devices shown here as well are capable to receive an Airplay audio stream ...
I had overlooked this, and I am confused that the two Squeezebox devices are shown here.

I have searched a bit and it appears that Squeezebox devices can be used for audio streaming via Airplay 1 if the local LMS server has installed a certain plugin, Shairtune or similiar. I assume that this is the case here, and this will be the reason that the two WiiM Ultra devices are shown in the Airplay menu as well. Ok, then I understand the situation. I must search for the Shairtune plugin or any similar functionality im my network to disable it.

Plugin diabled -> no WiiM Ultra in the Airplay menu anymore
My assumption that there is a bug was hasty. Sorry for this.
