Good afternoon, greetings to all forum members. This is my first post, I thank you in advance for your help.

Besides my stereo sound system, I have a Yamaha YSP5600 soundbar with an SVS SB2000 PRO. I recently bought the Wiim Ultra Streamer and I want to take advantage of the room correction available in the Wiim App.

I will connect it as follows:

TV HDMI eARC > Wiim HDMI ARC > Wiim Optical Out > YSP5600

Is this the best option?

Regards

So presumably, you will be using the Ultra to control the volume of your soundbar, and subwoofer?
The HDMI connection between the TV and the Wii also allows you to use the TV remote for volume control. Is this correct?
If this isn't possible, I'll have problems with someone I don't want problems with ;)

As far as I'm aware, although I don't use this feature, I use the WiiM remote control for volume.

TV Remote for Volume Control is a function of HDMI CEC (which is the most problematic aspect of HDMI ARC connectivity). It will require some Trial&Error as both the TV and WiiM CEC components must communicate (and AGREE) for smooth working of controls like Volume.

Depends on the TV, but I'll tell you I have no problems with anybody involved with my setup (Sharp Aquos TV) and controlling volume with the Apple TV 4K remote; however, it controls volume one step at a time whereas I have the WiiM remote set to do two steps per press.

It do but only for the TV sound via the WiiM.
I seem to remember my surprise when I found out that our TV remote would also adjust the Ultra's volume of streaming sources, at least as long as the (Samsung) TV is switched on.

Didn't try this again for a couple of months, though.

Yes, I remember that. I was not able to make it work on my TV at that time. If it works I would to think it is unintentional.

Thanks for confirming my cloudy memory.
Just did a retest with the HDMI Beta Testing firmware I currently use. If the TV is on, TV output set to ARC and the WiiM Ultra is switched from HDMI input to another input, the TV remote still control the WiiM volume. If the TV is on internal speakers it will not control the WiiM.

This is a kind of bug in the WiiM I would say. It should not react to the HDMI CEC when not on HDMI input. It don't really matter though and maybe some could benefit from this quirk?

When I use the WiiM app for my Apple TV 4K during listening sessions for the lyrics, CEC allows me to see what volume is set at whenever I change volume with the WiiM remote control. I’m weirdly OCD about using specific steps in volume. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Last night I turned on the WIIM, TV volume 100, WiIM 100, I control the soundbar sound with its remote, I lost ATMOS due to the optical connection.
Perhaps keep the TV and soundbar volume at maximum and control the sound with the WIIM is a better choice???
Today I'm going to try RoomFit, let's see.
