Does it mean that as of now it is not possible to link different RoomFit profiles to particular outputs (via Preset or otherwise?) - if that was the case it would be quite strange omission that would a sort of undermine the entire concept - in my setup (playing to different set of speakers via different outputs) I would still need to use EQ rather than RoomFit... Can I at least turn RoomFit off for particular outputs?
You can use smart presents to make link outputs to EQ profiles.

I didn't check yet if and how presets have been updated to reflect the new independent RoomFit and EQ settings, admittedly.

@DariuszP, @Smartplug,

My Ultra's FW has been downgraded, so the presets have not been tested.

From the release notes, there is no indication that any functionality has been added to the presets, so I don't think a dedicated selection section for RoomFit profiles has been added. (i.e. it is not possible to specify an EQ for input and a profile for output at the same time).

In the beta version, I guess you could select RoomFit profiles in the presets, but to be honest I can't remember for sure. If this is possible, you could disable the profile in the preset or select a different profile for each output. Also, in that case, it is possible to use it in conjunction with the per-input EQ settings.
(All this is unconfirmed.)

Edit:
According to the team's response here, they will be able to apply separate RoomFit profiles for speakers and headphones.

I don't understand that. Are you saying they made an error with the firmware version and it has installed a much older version with less features? If so, that's a bit scary. Given we have no option not to have updates installed, if the wheels have fallen off their firmware division to such an extent, I am worried that we will all end up with bricked devices. I had hoped WiiM were more careful than that.

I wonder if they have insufficient qualified staff and are perhaps trying to do too much in a rushed and careless manner.

As reported in #39, my Ultra received the latest FW (5.2.725647). However, it continued to show an update notification for the current version (5.2.723250), which was automatically updated the following morning.

As the update itself didn't cause any problems, I don't think there is any concern that the device will break 🙂

@WiiM Team, @WiiM Support, @RyanWithWiiM,

Ticket No.539209

------------------------------
When I woke up in the morning,
the auto-update had reverted mine back to 5.2.723250 😭
------------------------------

After the update, I'm experiencing a strange phenomenon that I've never seen before.

When I completed the update and opened the device screen, I saw the old version of the Rocket.

I have rebooted the Ultra but the icon has not disappeared.

Also, the beta testing screen still shows the 27 June firmware and no 15 July version.

Is this a new feature for manual downdates? (It's a bug, right?)

Every time I open WiiM app, the rocket appears, so I get excited for nothing 😂
Same here :( - just updated but the Ultra still wants to 'upgrade' to former *250 build.
Any solution to break this apparent loophole?

My Ultra has received version 5.2.725647 dated 20250808. This is a later release number, and date to that originally posted in this thread.

Firmware just arrived. I tested this literally for 5 minutes, but it seems that this functionality requires some tweaking to make it fully functional. Please also be so nice to correct me if my analysis is wrong and I simply missed something? @WiiM Team - please advise.

AS OF NOW:
1) You can switch RoomFit on and off, you can also have several RoomFit profiles to select from, however
2) You cannot assign RoomFit status (on / off) nor its particular profiles to particular output (even though each profile indicates on which output it was measured). There is no such switch in the Output section of the settings,
3) You cannot assign RoomFit status nor its particular profile to particular preset. There is no such switch in the Preset section of the settings.

WHY THIS IS SUBOPTIMAL (OR EVEN: IN SOME USE CASES - WORSE THEN BEFORE)
1) Now, when switching to other output you must manually change the status of RoomFit, or else you will stick to the one selected before (not matching particular output - e.g. speakers connected to particular amp),
2) Before the update it was not a problem as you link the EQ status (that included RoomFit data) to particular preset, so you could switch outputs with the presets and get proper RoomFit after such switch. Obviously it was not possible to independently "stack" EQ on this, so you needed e.g. 2-3 EQ settings for each output - e.g. I had different EQ (including already RoomFit data) for radio stations via optical and different for streaming via optical - quite cumbersome but... working. Now apparently it is not possible and everytime I switch output I will have to remember about it and get deeply into settings to change RoomFit (before I could also do this easily from Now Playing screen).

WHAT SHOULD BE CHANGED:
1) Adding switches for RoomFit in Output and Preset sections - selection from existing RoomFit profiles, including OFF. It seems to be relatively easy change to implement. EDIT: Of course, this switch should also have the option of not changing anything (i.e. "Current").

As a side note - if I am not wrong and it really works the way as I described, I am quite surprised that it was not anyhow detected / improved during [I guess 6 months of] beta testing of this feature.

Unplugging the Ultra's power adapter

Seems like a drastic measure. I wonder why WiiM have not explained the issue or supplied a fix. I am nervous for the next update of my Pro Plus. Something seems to have gone terribly wrong with updates that seem to introduce new bugs rather than fix things.

Yes I am also wondering why there is this lack of generic design in much of what we see from @WiiM Team. They are releasing half solutions instead of doing a proper design.

I received an email from the team yesterday and they were still unable to identify the cause of the problem. They said they would email me back as soon as the issue is resolved. We'll have to wait, but @QuarryHunslet has received a new version, so it may already be resolved.

I received an email

Oh, well that's something. It's a shame they don't think to update the members here about serious issues like this. Seems an easy thing to do and would probably mean a lot less tickets to reply to, freeing up staff for other queries. Perhaps that suggestion is too sensible! :)

My update had already been installed when I checked to see if there were any updates available this morning.

After your update, you haven't seen any update notifications to the older version, have you?
Then probably everything is resolved.

Btw, which version of the firmware do you see on the beta testing screen?

No, I have never had any update notifications for any older versions.

The version shown for Revert to Previous Version is 5.2.721349, dated 2025-06-27.

So @WiiM Team has not included the 20250715 version into the beta test versions, so that we can revert in case of issues. Maybe the previous inclusion was a one of or maybe they have already forgotten this?

Edit: The beta test for seperate RC and EQ is also still there, although now released in main version.

@WiiM Team need to update their update check list it seems.

It’s possible, via presets, choose which output, Room Fit profile, output volume and more.
