The option is there but the detection is automatic and enters anyway, after all that's how it works. If anything, the option must disable HDMI Arc and not set or detect it otherwise it will automatically introduce it.
It do turn off CEC on the WiiM and that prevents ARC from being used. I don't understand why that doesn't happen in your case?

What is your input selection on the WiiM?

What happens if you remove the HDMI cable?

The HDMI ARC connection was disconnected. With my Samsung TV, which has HDMI ARC support, no matter how I set it, the Samsung TV always detects WiiM It's up to WiiM to disable HDMI ARC. It doesn't, so the Samsung TV, seeing the active connection, mutes the speakers and automatically sets HDMI ARC. To prevent this from happening, I need to disable
HDMI ARC on the TV, but this solution isn't practical because control with other devices, like the Fire TV, no longer works. While waiting for an option to disable the HDMI ARC function on WiiM, I need to unplug the HDMI cable.
@Apache Have you tried these settings?
Auto sensing off Hdmi OFF
Use HDMI Audio Only in HDMI Mode ON
Use TV Speakers when HDMI is inactkve ON

This has to work. Your TV wont mute its own speakers unless you manually selected hdmi output in the ultra.
It works for me.

It seems to me that after the latest update, the sound has become somewhat worse — kind of flat and not very expressive. Have you noticed that?
