Hi, as of today, February 21st, the latest update from February 9th has not arrived in Europe. Do you have a date for when it will be, thanks?

It hasn't arrived anywhere yet. AFAIK WiiM never comment on delays or withdrawals.

I can understand their reluctance to do so, given they'd have to announce publicly that there was an issue. But doing so would certainly be a wonderful example of quality customer service, making them leaders in a somewhat crowded market. Perhaps they'd be better off not announcing the updates at all? WiiM put quite a lot of effort into their forum update announcements, but after that, it's crickets! :)

Or just announce them when they are definitely ready to go. I remember being first to report receiving an update for the Amp and expected others to report similarly but nobody did. That update must have been withdrawn although I didn't notice any issues for my usage.

If you’re really impatient waiting on this, you can always try the beta 807549 firmware which (given its version number) might well include the changes mentioned in this public version. That’s what I’ve done - I’ll keep an eye out for when this public version finally rolls out and maybe come off the beta.

I answered a query in Reddit on input specific playback screen selection a week or so back, so somebody out there does have it.

I know that there are 99% of WiiM defenders on this forum who will defend how WiiM releases its updates, but it is something that really needs to be thought about. Writing about the release along with the release notes and later the lack of these updates on the devices is just strange.

Every manufacturer releases a release, it is already available on devices. E.g. Apple. Why publish release notes if in practice no one has access to it?

There is some truth to that, but as @Burnside has already pointed out, I think we need to take into account that many of the Chinese staff are on vacation. Probably the timing was unfortunate.

But why is there a button to check for updates, if only wiim decides if you can update?
That checks if wiim have made the update available for your device. If they haven’t yet, it’ll tell you no updates are available for your specific device.
