I have my Wiim Ultra in the bedroom, (I am sure this has been asked previously?)

Is it possible and if so, how can I set the display to turnoff after say, 15 minutes, but continue playing the music? I like to sleep with music playing all night and do not want the light glowing from the display.

This (screensaver?) seems like a simple feature to have, but I can't seem to find it...

Hi
As there is no such function, please turn off the screen manually. You can also submit a request ticket via the feedback section of the WiiM app.

An option would be to attach a ND filter on the front. It can generally lower the brightness of a led screen without changing the colors.

This is one of the things that has been requested since the first days of the ultra...but we don't even know from Wiim if it is technically possible or not to turn off the screen....? (especially since we know that it pollutes a little electronically)

They should really think of these things. I always found the display on Squeezebox Radios too bright at night until someone released an applet to allow different brightness settings when the device was idle.
I agree.

I recall proposing a feature to schedule screen on/off times when Ultra was first released, but it appears to have been rejected.

It can be turned off manually. You can do that in the device screen settings and strangely also from the Remote. The Remote do however also put the WiiM in standby.

The way that the screen off is handled is a bit strange and not logical. We are missing an easily accessible off/on button in the WiiM Home App.

It's already there, essentially, then ;-)
so Wiim will certainly be able to make it more intuitive and useful in the future
;-)

There was a fair bit of back and forth on this during testing,
If the unit is left to go into standby by itself it does what the app setting says.
If you press the remote button to turn it off then that's a deliberate action to turn it 'off', so the screen goes off.

Still strange as both options go into standby. I don't see why the Remote Off is just not immediately going into standby following the standby screen options, that includes the screen off.

As I want the clock to show when in standby, I cannot use the Remote for that.

My option would be to get rid off the Ultra and reuse my Eversolo A6! Why should we bother with Heath Robinson’s (google it) contraptions. It is not acceptable to do so!

The current behaviour gives you the choice if you sometimes want the standby screen and sometimes want the screen to be off.

Let it go into standby (default: after 2 minutes) and you end up with the standby screen
Press the button on the remote and the screen will be off.

I actually see a very logical pattern here.
