My wish is to have the screen sleep in darkness unless I adjust volume or switch a track with the remote. AND the when I stop listening it times out and goes into standby and displays the clock wallpaper. It will do the 1st part but not the second because you have to turn off the screen setting.....so with the screen setting on it will go into standby and display clock....but then while listening it displays the screen constantly.....
Anybody like this idea or scenario?

It's not my intended use, but the beta firmware feature on the Ultra called "Input Sound Profile" might partially fulfil your objective.

This function allows you to set the screen on/off for each input. If you're using all inputs on the Ultra, this method won't work, but otherwise, I believe it should function well. Here's a rough outline of the setup procedure.

  1. Open Device Info in Device Settings, press the 'Join Beta testing' button at the bottom, and install Version 5.2.733433.
  2. Please check here for how to configure this feature.
  3. Switch off the display for all inputs you are using. Leave the display switched on for inputs you are not using (e.g., Line-in).
  4. Delete one of the presets numbered 1 to 8 and edit the Empty preset. Here, set the input to Line-in and configure the screen to be on.

That's it. When you want stop music, press the preset button on the remote to switch the input to Line-in. This will turn the screen on, and the clock will display after auto standby.

(In other words, use the preset button instead of the remote's power or stop buttons.)

Playing any input source other than Line-in will turn the screen off.
