When casting from plexamp to my Wiim Ultra everything is being transcoded to OPUS, none of my other objects (Chromecast Audio, TV, Nvidia Shield) have this issue.

This is a known issue with PlexAmp and the more recent Chromecast hardware/firmware, we think.

Aha, right. You're playing a MP3 file from your library which is transcoded to Opus. A WiiM is certainly able to play MP3 files directly but maybe your files are in a not compatible form, non standard bitrate or VBR or something. What is shown in the Plexamp player when you play the exact same file to a Chromecast Audio?

They are .flac files. It's only happening on the Wiim I can cast to over 10 other devices and it plays with no transcoding. Playing to another device just results in a direct play

Thanks!! Yep seems to be the same issue. I guess I'll use one of my NUCs to run plexamp headless and run that to the Wiim

Remember I'm trying to help you. You did not elaborate, just posted a screenshot I interpreted and I was wondering how Plexamp looks when playing to one of your over 10 other devices...It sounds like you are annoyed by me or maybe I sense that wrong but I wish you good luck.

Yeah I think you are reading too much into it 😁. But looks like this is known bug. Here is how it looks casting to a different device.1000002145.png
