WiiM Vibelink Amp

That's interesting, in that it's clearly a digital amp. Question 1 will be to ask if there's a pro-direct mode for the analogue inputs.

And as it's digital, will it handle EQ, etc.? Have a sub out?

If it can, you could effectively add it to a Mini and turn that pairing into a powered Ultra (sans screen).

Though sadly none round the back.

If it's a digital 2.1 integrated amp, it could also be a nice option for desktop users (who have streaming on their PCs).

That looks like a new (metal?) remote that was hinted at in another thread

Depends what you mean by amp ultra.
Article says integrated with no streaming capabilities, and shows it paired with an ultra.
So in a way, yes. And no.
More no in my mind as you could pair it with other WiiM devices too.

It looks like it will duplicate the pre-amp functionality (volume control) of the other WiiMs, so what is the benefit compared to using a pure amplifier?

Why would it duplicate the preamp functionality of the Ultra if it’s meant to pair with it? A pure 2.0 amp looks more likely to me.
So why the knob on the front?

And from article:

"It delivers 100W per channel (8Ω) and supports variable sample rates and bit depths, utilising premium components and advanced technologies to ensure high-fidelity performance. WiiM promises a “rich, pure audio experience” and has incorporated analogue and digital inputs, making it a versatile addition to any hi-fi setup."

Article says "WiiM is positioning the Vibelink Amp as the ideal companion for its Mini, Pro, and Ultra models." If just for Ultra, why does it have a volume control? Until we see the back, hard to know how much overlap there is.

Curious to know if it will be app based, have tone controls, phono stage
Again, why if the Ultra already does that? I guess what you’re after might be something like a marriage of the Amp Pro and Ultra that was mooted a year ago at the Munich hifi show. I don’t think vibelink is that.

It's not. No network connectivity.
