🎉 WiiM Home TV App Update — Now Available for Android TV & Fire TV!

We're excited to announce a new update to the WiiM Home TV App for Android TV and Fire TV!

Here's what's new:

New: Home Page The biggest addition in this update is the all-new Home page, giving you quick access to your favorite content right from the moment you open the app. From the Home page you can browse:

• Presets – Your saved stations and playlists, ready for instant playback
• Recently Played – Jump back into what you were listening to

• Popular Music Stations – Browse what's trending

When lyrics aren't available for the currently playing track, the Now Playing screen now displays a large album cover for a cleaner, more immersive visual experience.

Works if the stream is coming from Lyrion - fails if vtuner stream is used.

Since that’s a other issue, better to submit a ticket.

I gave it a try while I was in the beta test.

It’s really well done. The usability is great. And I love that you can return to the Now Playing screen from anywhere on the Home screen just by double-clicking the remote’s “Back” button.

It’ll be perfect once the Sound Profile feature is added and I can control groups using presets.

If I had to be picky, it would be nice if I could control play/pause using the play button on the TV remote, but that’s not really possible, is it?

This is not true for the "detailed now playing screen" , could this be further improved on next releases?
It is quite annoying to see that No lyrics yet text all the time even when you know lyrics won't be found ever, playing non vocal music.

I find the WiiM app keeps hanging on my Firestick 4k requiring the device to be rebooted. I hope this update fixes that problem.

That is clearly a bug and a missed use case test from the @WiiM Team.

Please raise a ticket to either make it work as it does on the Ultra screen or to remove those entries from the TV app.

They do play for me, however mine are not from Spotify, my recently played are from Qobuz, and internet radio including Radio Paradise, TuneIn, and Open Network Stream, and those all do play on the WiiM Ultra when viewed/controlled from the TV app's Recently Played screen using the current (2024) Google TV streamer device.

It's only Spotify that doesn't work, as indicated in comment #54.

Yep, no issues with the other recently played items - mainly radio stations for me. I can't comment on other streaming services like Tidal etc.

An excellent app for those who like the album image on the big screen and have an Android TV. Suggestion, the app would be nicer if the controls were on half of the TV screen and the vinyl animation was on the other half so that it was twice as big.Or even better, over the entire screen vinyl (album image) and the name of the group, songs and in a smaller part a menu bar.
