Ability to enable a customizable audio output delay for the subwoofer after powering on the Wiim Ultra.

Please consider implementing this feature for the Wiim Ultra. Currently, the sound from the subwoofer ( subwoofer out) begins to play before the sound from the speakers of my audio system, which is connected via optical out. When I power on the Wiim, I hear approximately two seconds of sound from the subwoofer, and only after the audio system powers on does the sound become synchronized. This issue arises because the audio system has a delay when starting playback.

It would be ideal to have a delay adjustment slider in seconds and milliseconds.

My audio system integrates with HomeAssistant via the iR hub after the wiim3 playback trigger is activated

Hi sr.rm,

You can adjust the delay between the main speaker and subwoofer in the WiiM Home App either manually or through auto-calibration. Just go to Device Settings > Subwoofer > Syncing Subwoofer & Speakers. Give it a try, and let us know your experience. Thank you!

If I read the question correctly it is not related to syncing.

It is more that the sound from the subwoofer can be heard while the system for the main speakers is still starting up. After that all is OK and in sync.

I also hear that, in my case because my power amp has a turn on delay of a few seconds. So I agree you can hear this, but it does not really bother me.

Absolutely right! That's the problem. In fact, this feature is not too disturbing, it's just unpleasant, like a door creaking.

It may be worth trying manual sync for audio instead of setting the subwoofer delay. Manual sync in the Auto Sync section allows you to set a delay of up to 1 second. If you set it to +1 second, you would expect both the main and sub sounds to play with a 1 second delay. (I have not tested this, however.)

I apologize for my poor command of the English language. Initially, I meant to convey that it is not the subwoofer that lags behind the main speakers when music is playing; rather, the activation of the main speakers' amplifier occurs with a delay relative to the subwoofer (the subwoofer is always operational; this is a characteristic of my SWF Rell). The delay happens only once when the Wiim activates my amplifier through Home Assistant. After that, everything is fine. I was thinking that it would be beneficial for Wiim to implement an audio signal delay setting for the line-out of the SWF after the device undergoes a cold start

Yes, the delay in starting the amplifiers causes the audio at the beginning of the main speaker to be interrupted, correct?

As a remedy, I suggested delaying the audio output of both the main speaker and the sub by 1 second with manual sync. I am not sure if this would work, but have you tried it?

(Sorry too. I use auto translation, so I may not have understood your request very well).

Nice idea, but unfortunately this cannot work. The sub signal enable on the sub out needs to be enabled with the same delay that the power amp has and the 200ms that we can use for the delay is not enough...

This cannot be solved by delaying the signal itself, only enabling the output with a delay helps.

This is not a delay setting for the sub outputs.
Manual sync is adjusted under "Sync Audio" in the device settings.

This is a sync feature for multi-room groups, but I wanted to make sure it would work with a single WiiM device. 😀

Again, I have not tested this, so sorry if it does not work.

I found that one now, one delay for all signals!
You are right it can be set up to 1 second. But that is not enough for my amp as i need around 3 seconds and probably delays all play actions with that time. That would be even more annoying than once on power up...
But i appreciate you mentioned the option!

I am so sorry it didn't work, but thanks for trying it.

My amp also has a slight delay, but I control it with Alexa so the beginning of the music is never interrupted. (If your amp comes with a remote, you can control it with a smart remote.)

I hope the WiiM team can solve OP and your problems. 😉

Aren't you missing the beginning of the first track through the mains then, anyway? Isn't that much more of an annoyance?

Or do you perform some more HomeAssistant trickery to restart playback?

As I mentioned before it is not a real problem for me and I know it is related to my personal setup.
I am happy with everything else that the Ultra is doing for me!

@sr.rm Your issue sounds like a similar issue to one that I have just (kind of) solved, maybe this could help you too:

An interesting solution. The Home-assistant can switch inputs at the wiim ultra 3 endpoint. I'll try your method of waking up the device.

I often listen to ambient music and it's without a voice. 😁
