Amp Ultra vs Ultra/Vibelink?

There's one pretty essential thing, though... it's that there's no obligation to use a VibeLink with an Ultra... it allows for a choice of varied amplification, and types of technology other than these TI chips ( low cost but efficiant).
This idea seems to have been "completely swept under the rug...""
I looked at other amps including the nice Fosi v3 but the Wiim units look great together and are designed to work together. I saw posts where ppl have issues using other amps, for example getting the 12v trigger to work. It’s great to have the option but sticking with Wiim worked for me.

fosi...same chip, technologie etc..
(the trigger is an element of relative comfort...but not essential...no?
hihi)

Of course we are here on the """wiim forum"".... but..
just the ultra allows you not to be captive to this family of amplification
fortunately for wiim their streamers will not be confined to a wiim only environment
;-)

The upcoming Prime sale might also sway people towards the Ultra+Vibelink if there’s going to be 20% off across the board except for the new Amp Ultra…

I would be annoyed if I had just bought them 🤣

I think with the 20% off on Amazon next week here only would bring it down to £550 for the combo but the amount ultra can be bought from Amazon Germany for £533 already so it wouldn't be enough to sway it for me personally.

The extra power usage, more plugs and more space used would have to be a sizeable chunk cheaper as I personally don't have a use for the extra connections and featureset it has, only need it for speakers, pc and headphones(seperate dac/amp) so nothing fancy.

Good they announced it for those looking at the combo though.

Don’t think it’s specifically been mentioned in this thread, but the Amp Ultra includes the excellent WiiM Remote 2 as well…

That's a good point, although I'm not sure I would use it really.

I use the app or cast via Amazon music for most things these days (for what the wiim will be for).
It's going to end up on my desk so I can see the screen so it will be within arms reach.

Probably use it for my front room where I have a wiim pro plus in there with my main cinema setup, that would be better for sure!

Really? Please take a look at Slartibartfast's post. This is my thread and he posts that and expects me not to be annoyed.

Whilst you may have started the thread, you don't own it. It belongs to all forum members.

People are allowed to have different opinions, in fact the forum would die if everyone had the same view and no one would learn anything.

No I expect you to be annoyed. Didn't you read the post. Anyway if you had bought from Amazon you could send them back and buy them again at the lower price. I've done exactly that before. Chill.

Its one thing having an opinion, its another when someone intentionally posts something with the express intent of upsetting someone else.

Do you think its ok to intentionally post something with intent to put someone down?
Did you even read what this is about - it seems not from your reply?
