Ongoing Beta Beta Test: DLNA Cast

Show a little patience. I‘m pretty certain that it will arrive around the same time as proper Plex integration.

They may hit an issue that up to now it hasn’t progress otherwise @QuarryHunslet would celebrate with wine. I miss the days when we look at the roadmap on what’s upcoming block buster features so pretty much excitement are gone since nothing else to expect.

3 months after filling the form to join the beta test, I still don’t have access to it. So I guess, it’s dead

Isn't this beta available from the firmware update page for your device? It is the only beta shown for the WiiM Amp.

Nope, afaik you have to fill out a form with the mac address for that beta (which I did, as described in the first post of this thread), after that they unlock you (not happened in 3 months) and after it, you see it on your beta firmware setting (I guess)

So after waiting over a year without airplay - my main reason for buying WiiM pro was to play to Sonos speakers across 3 rooms when their own S2 app went awol - joined DLNA beta. Now everything silent here too. Sometimes Sonos ok. Sometimes not. DLNA very laggy, can’t sync L+R stereo or between rooms. Now dropped idea of getting Ultra as unclear on roadmap where next. Hear that Google are major stakeholders in WiiM so not high expectations re future direction. Am I missing anything or is it as gloomy as it seems?

Best pushing WiiM on it directly via the more/feedback section in the app.

Google aren’t major shareholders in WiiM as far as I’m aware - I guess that rumour came about because of WiiM’s parent company Linkplay having being founded in 2014 by a team of entrepreneurs with backgrounds from companies like Google, Broadcom, InterVideo, and Harman. That doesn’t mean Google have a share in WiiM. See https://www.linkplay.com/aboutus

Sonos functionality can be accessed by 3rd party apps such as Sonify, Hi-Fi Cast, Bubble UPnP, and SonoPhone/SonoPad dependant on the platform you use.
iPhone/iPad have more functional choices
Have you looked at these ?

I haven't tried it in a while, but are you grouping the speakers in the Sonos app then selecting only the master Sonos speaker (the speaker you initiated grouping from in the Sonos app) in the DLNA Out configuration in the WiiM Home app?

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that DLNA Out is only supported on the Ultra. On other streamers (Pro, Pro Plus) you need to use the beta software, which is not up to date with a lot of the new features. So, you are stuck on an old version if you want to use DLNA Out on anything but an Ultra. . At least that is what I understand. I cannot test for a while, as I am away from my Wiim/Sonos setup. Grateful for any update on this situation.

I joined the beta on my Pro and my build is reported as:
Firmware version: 4.8.705360
Build Date: 20250122

So yes it does look like you're stuck on an old firmware.
