Ongoing Beta Beta Test: Qobuz Connect

Yes, I have joined Qobuz club, no much activity in the beta forum. I did send feedback to Qobuz not being able to connect to ny WiiM pro plus…I have to be patient I presume …☹️

Just curious, what's the version and build date on your Ultra? The *current* Ultra beta is:
Firmware: 4.8.639533
Build date: 20241223

I think Ryan is periodically monitoring this forum, but if you don't have the firmware above, would be worthwhile reaching out to him. And then your WiiM's MAC address will need to be whitelisted with Qobuz for everything to work at this stage. They definitely don't make it easy on us! :D

I suppose there might be a new firmware build in the works to address a variety of issues, and if it's being debugged internally, WiiM may be temporarily holding off on pushing out any more beta firmware until the update is solid?

WiiM pro plus firmware 4.8.704531. I did give them the MAC address for the whitelist…
That's probably the current GA version, not the beta. WiiM will need to push the latter to your device before Qconnect will work with it, even if it's whitelisted at Qobuz.

Would be nice to know if there is progressing being made on the distortion issue when using grouped devices playing CD Quality.

Is there any estimate on when another group of WiiM Pros will be whitelisted for the Connection Beta? I received the iOS and Android beta apps a couple of weeks ago, now all I need is the WiiM firmware beta.

Go to the 'Join Beta Testing' page under device info tab in the new WHA. See if the firmware is there. I can see it on mine but am not allowed via Qobuz so did not download it.

I my iOS app version is 3.1.1, and I’ve checked for updates. I don’t see an option on the Device Info tab of the app to Join Bets Testing’

It's in Android app version 3.1.2 can't comment on 'Apple world' I'm afraid, sorry. Maybe an update will come along in a bit?

Maybe a question for @RyanWithWiim.

The latest WiiM Home App includes an interface to join the beta program(s) for WiiM hardware devices. If new generic beta firmware is released, will joining this remove the Qobuz Connect functionality we Qconnect beta testers currently have, or not.

How can I obtain the Android beta app if I want to join now? I have upgraded my Ultra to the Beta version with Qobuz connect but it seems that I need the beta app now

It’ll more than likely replace it as beta firmwares tend to be independent, not cumulative. Once there’s a public release of Qobuz Connect, you might reasonably expect that to be in any new beta programmes after that but not necessarily in updates of existing betas as their root beta firmware might pre-date that public release.

Yeah, I got an email yesterday saying I’d been accepted but the Android app link in that email takes me to the public, not beta release in the App Store, I got the iOS TestFlight app ok last week, but the Android one is proving elusive

And do you know where do I have to sign up to obtain the beta app? Is there a form or something?

You'll need to contact Qobuz. I don't know whether they're currently onboarding new WiiM beta testers, but try asking via email at connectbeta@qobuz.com. If they let you join, they'll send information on installing the app(s) and what they need to whitelist your WiiM endpoint on their cloud.

Thanks. Thought that might be the case!

Were you already on the general Qobuz beta program at the Play Store, by any chance? That link always took me to the wrong app until I removed myself from the general beta, then deleted data and cache before uninstalling the app, after which the link let me install the proper Qconnect beta app.

Ok nice! Will try that, thanks. I also encounter a link to join the beta directly with Qobuz in a forum, maybe someone here finds it useful: https://feedback.qobuz.com/s/Qobuz-Connect-Beta/tt-tzlc-
