Could you add support for universal media protocol control via Bluetooth?
There are a lot of handy remotes and rotary knobs on the market. There are so many handy remotes and rotary knobs on the market. It's very convenient. So the task is very simple (play, pause, rewind, volume). Here I am most interested in the volume control function. Thanks

Why not use the WiiM remote control?
Because I prefer a rotating knob for adjusting the volume. Analogue feeling. Apparently, people who give me minuses can't understand it - you're too young.

1. Please post in English
2. Please don’t make assumptions about the age of those downvoting your suggestion - in my case, there’s more chance you’re wrong 🤣

Just because something was good in the past doesn't necessarily mean it will be good now. Adding features that already exist in given products - as Burnside mentioned regarding the WiiM Remote - suggests that it is less needed or even not at all. :)

Where is the logic in this? Why do the newest WiiM ultra and WiiM Amp have a volume knob (twist knob)?

I will repeat my post here. I'm asking you to make a change. This forum is for new feature requests. No need to put a minus if you don't want this feature. Just pass it by and leave people with hope. These posts are made to support ideas. I can't stand roon and I don't need it. But I don't disliked those requests, I just walk by. I understand a certain number of people want such a feature. If it's there, I just don't use it. Just like that.
I'm an old sh. I'm a sound engineer. Yes. I use rotary knobs everywhere. There's a huge range of mixers and audio equipment. You just twist the knob and the volume changes instantly!!! It's the same story with faders. With wiim, you have to tap endlessly on the remote or touch buttons. That's crazy slow. Okay. You can use the phone. But that's even more stupid. It's bad enough that we practically sleep with our phones in our arms.....
Car manufacturers have already realized their mistakes and have started bringing back physical buttons and twiddles. Because obviously you're not comfortable tapping the touchscreen on bumps in the road. This is just an example of a failed implementation of modern trends. Old school is always cool.

This is just my opinion, but being ignored is 100 times harder than a negative vote. Negative votes are one of the objective indicators of the value of my ideas, so I am rather grateful for them. 😄

BTW, you actually used those Bluetooth remotes with the WiiM device and found them to be excellent, right? How does it compare in usability with the WiiM remote? Are they not responsive, error prone, etc.?

Honestly, from your post, I don't know if you want to promote such a product here or if you want the team to develop it. 🤔

Edit:
Sorry, no offense intended. But I see your post as a "recommend" not a "request". That is, I couldn't find a single suggestion to customize it specifically for WiiM. Do you have any specific suggestions?🙂

I apologize profusely if I have misled you. My English is far from perfect. I have similar remotes. They are sold in an assortment. In particular the one shown in the picture. I use it with my mac, in my car, and so on. Any device that is a source of music and sound in general.
In my post, I am ASKING the developers to allow such devices to be added via Bluetooth. Right now wiim doesn't support third party remotes officially.

No need to apologize. I don't speak English either, so I use auto translation.

You are correct, but I was able to connect my Amazon FireTV stick remote to the WiiM. At least I was able to adjust the volume.

Have you already tried pairing the remote you have? I know this is not your request, but I would like to know if it worked.

Unfortunately not. In pairing mode, the devices do not react to each other in any way. It's funny and ironic. Apple TV connects perfectly with jbl click even though Apple is condemned for being aloof.
