I am a very happy WiiM Ultra user, and I love the idea of the WiiM Home App for Apple TV and Google TV. It’s a fantastic way to bring the "Now Playing" experience and album art to the big screen.

However, as an LG OLED owner, I’ve noticed a significant gap in the ecosystem. I am writing to request that you bring the WiiM Home App to LG’s webOS as well.

Here is why this should be a priority:
  • Market Leadership: LG is the world’s second-largest TV manufacturer and the undisputed leader in the OLED segment, with over 50% market share. A huge portion of WiiM Ultra owners use LG TVs as their primary display.
  • The HDMI ARC Synergy: The WiiM Ultra is marketed as the perfect companion for a TV via HDMI ARC. It feels like a missed opportunity that the TV most likely to be connected to the Ultra (an LG OLED) is the one platform currently missing the dedicated app.
  • Complete the Ecosystem: You have already done the hard work of designing the interface for Apple TV and Google TV. Bringing this existing experience to webOS would ensure that LG users aren't left behind in the WiiM ecosystem.
With webOS powering over 200 million screens, making the WiiM Home App available in the LG Content Store would be a massive value-add for your most loyal enthusiast customers.

I hope to see WiiM on my LG screen soon!

Exciting news for you folks! We're currently working with LG to bring the WiiM Home app to webOS devices. I don't have all the details or a timeline to share right now, but it's in the works! We'll check back in once there's some more concrete news to share.
This is good news!

It vaguely reminds me of how my older LG OLED [48" CX] suffered some burn-in from the terribly neglected Pandora Apple TV App, so I urge the WiiM product deciders to look at all of the WiiM Home TV manifestations, including LG webOS, as largely an "Informative Screen Saver for Music Listening". Prioritize Settings for Options on Album Art; Font Size; Track / Album metadata; Lyrics display; Background imagery or video (be a 'big Aerial overlay' on Apple TV 4K if you can :-)).

After the "music playing screensaver function", make selection of which WiiM-device-is-in-focus easier, and default to the HDMI-connected device. Bonus points for using the TV app to augment "now playing" non-Info about the Ultra's HDMI connected source!

Finally, tackle remote content selection of what's playing on the WiiM. I put this last because the nature of using one's whole damn TV as a remote control to select what's playing on a streaming box is contrary to how the TV is traditionally used - I know a proper UI would make function quite useful, and it may be a WiiM strategy goal to get more content initiated from and playing on WiiM devices (vs. being played through WiiM devices), but it's not what I'm hoping to see next :-).

Are there any news regarding this?

Unfortunately, the whole world (and WiiM) are going in the opposite direction. Most actions performed on a TV - except the On/Off and Direct Channel Select Buttons - seem to have given way to full-screen Content Menu displays requiring multiple (or even it seems mega-multiple) Remote Control Cursor Arrow Keypresses. Look at NetFlix, Plex, Roku, FireTV, AppleTV, et al for the eventual future of the WiiM Home TV App...
(I remember when it was only a What's Playing display...)

I'm not actually bothered what is shown on the TV. I'm not interested in lyrics or album art or vu meters.
What I am interested in is being able to select and play music on my wiim devices without faffing about with my mobile phone.
If that means the Wiim TV app then so be it, I'm in :)

I find the WiiM Home app useful and currently use it via my Firestick 4k to play on my LG G4 TV. Good news WiiM plan to provide an LG OS version. Next job is to fix the WiiM Home integration issues with Amazon Music such as not showing all artists liked on Amazon Music.

To be honest, as much as I like the idea of this, I won't use it as much as I did with my old television, as there will be major screen burn-in issues on an OLED TV. The issue with Amazon Music you will find is just not a Wiim issue; this issue plagued Eversolo products when I had one. And I believe that in WiiM's road map, there is going to be a lot of work done on the Amazon app. Amazon really does not want you using third-party products to stream music; they want you to use Echo devices. So the trouble you're having isn't always down to WiiM as much as Amazon's bad APIs.

  • Native Service Upgrades: A completely refreshed, responsive, and richer interface for Amazon Music and iHeartRadio, leveraging their latest API standards for peak performance.

Not an issue for OLED if you useWiiM Home in dark mode and set screen brightness under 10 which i do for evening music playback

Yep that is a workaround but 10 is almost complete darkness which is kind of missing the point (but night listening so) if I use music amps on my LG in the day very rare I usually use the remote and tell it to turn off the screen
