Can Wiim app see and control other devices from other brands ?

Hi,

I just have one question before buying the Wiim Ultra Streamer.

Is it possible to control other devices from other brands (like Cambridge, i already own a CXN 100) within Wiim app ?

I seen a screenshot a few months ago of the Wiim app which was able to do such thing...

What was it that meant the users with squeezebox devices had to go looking for alternatives recently?

Only Squeezebox users who weren't running LMS and using the discontinued MySqueezebox cloud service -- mainly impacted owners of the Squeezebox Radio who were using solely for streaming, not for local music collection.

That's LMS/Lyrion not squeezebox, but I don't think you can access them without it.

Couple months ago Wiim app can't find my older firmware linkplay device with firmware 3.8.6... with a31 module,for that reason i install 2 Wiim app,older an new one.

NewHank Stream IT2​

that he can control this 3rd party streamer via Wiim App. However, I do not see that the NewHank is supporting LinkPlay. Does anybody have information regarding this topic? Thanks.

If you look at the manual of its newer version the IT3, it and its related 4stream app clearly show their Linkplay heritage but as with all such products, they’re not guaranteed to work with WiiM devices even if in practice some functions like linking may appear to work ok.

I have an Edifier MS50A speaker that I can control and link from the WiiM Home app, although it doesn't get any updates from either WiiM Home or the Edifier app.
