Hello all:

When I run RoomFit with the phone mic (Samsung) it runs fine. However, when I run it with the Dayton mic I get an error that the background level is too high (although there is no background noise. The mic is properly recognized and the calibration file was imported. I tried it several times and keep getting the same error.

Any tips appreciated.

Do the Dayton work with other apps that measure or records sound?

Try e.g. "Spectroid".

I have the same Dayton mic and it's working fine for me (One Plus phone).
Installed Spectroid. Don't see any indication whether the mic is working or not when plugged in. Should I see something showing that it's recognized?

The microphone model is not displayed on the Spectroid. Touch the tip of the microphone lightly with your finger to see if it responds.

Is the RoomFit test audio volume appropriate?
Try a little louder than your normal listening volume.

Good idea. When I touch the phone mic it definitely jumps. When I have the IMM plugged in and I tap it I don't see anything. If I flick it hard I do get a jump. I will try with the sound volume higher.

In rare cases, the phone may recognise the microphone if the USB port is connected in the opposite direction. I have the IMM-6C connected to the phone via a USB cable and this issue occurs.

Ok, I reran RoomFit with the volume pretty high. Still giving the same error. I'm going to just assume I have a bad mic and exchange it. Hopefully, the next will be better. Thanks for all the troubleshooting tips.
