Change power cord to the Ultra

So they want to upgrade the power cable as well as the the stock rca. What’s next upgrade that they are going to change replace rca input and output to gold plated?

Another quick addendum…He never said everyone had to agree with his opinion.
He presented his opinion (at least parts of it) as facts. That sort of implies everyone has to agree unless he doesn't know these facts:

"The power cord was new, so it needed to play for a while to play at its best."
Naturally.

"But if you loaning a new cable you need to play it for a week or so."
Full details.

"The sound will not be better than the weakest link in the system."
That weakest link could be anything. All we know is, as soon as you don't agree you are held back by a "weakest link".

Final verdict:
"I’m too lazy to change back just to compare with original cable ..."
:)

I use an angled usb adapter to make a better shielded power cable fit.
I prefer this over the mains extension adapter I also tried.
Only disadvantage is that ethernet connector no longer fits so wifi needs to be used.
I already made these cables years ago and one was not used so I replacement the connector on the ultra's side to fit.
Sounds good to me, but no statement to give about a real improvement...

That’s just crazy! It’s like powering up big compressor with that thick cable.

True, but the main improvement in this case is the twisting and shielding.
And at the time I made these cables they were universal and all the same, also for my poweramps...

Your place is plaque with interference in result of using heavy shielding. I have tried many cables but at the end of day there was no different maybe because I don’t have interfere like you do. I’m my ear I don’t hear difference in wires.

So your next upgrade would be audiophile router? 😆

This thread is getting very silly.
Well, it started out silly. ;)

In the meantime @onlyoneme had put the topic back on technical ground.

All these cables claiming improve sound quality are nothing but delusion and misleading buyers to get their hard earned money. Audioholics put that claim into science of audio precision and was none other than nice breaded asthetic.

I rather spend my money to home run a dedicate electric line from breaker panel - optionally surge protector in the breaker box. This is to reduce potential interference with home appliances.

From the additions/tweaks to my system ,the biggest difference for sound quality came from a software player, the JPLAY iOS app! Then it was a cheap network switch, then the ifi lan silencer and finally ifi Ipower x. So get this app first if you have an iPhone or iPad…

I don’t know how cable improve sound as audioholics stated with proven test result from audio precision. Those cable maybe acting as tone control.
