I would like to connect my CD transport to my Ultra's internal Dac. But seeing the coaxial ports are both outputs that doesn't seem possible. Any suggestions other than buying another DAC and connecting my CD player to it and then connecting it to my Ultra?

Does your CD transport not have an optical output? The Ultra has an optical input.

If your CD only has a Coax output, you may consider a Coaxial to Optical converter.

I have ordered some RCA to Optical connectors to see if that will work . I guess I could also try a Coaxial output to optical input. Thanks for responding. I appreciate it. :)

Going from CD transport RCA into a RCA-optical converter so you can connect it Ultra means you have converted the signal 3 times. Through DAC in your CD player, then an ADC in the RCA-optical converted then through another DAC in the Ultra. Signal be converted multiple times, which does not sound ideal?

Normally a CD "transport" means it is a CD player with digital out so that conversion only occurs once? Or is it when you say RCA you mean digital coax output going to coax- optical converter not a RCA analog signal?

Since the original post is about the coaxial output of @St David's CD transport I'm very sure that this is what he's talking about. The plug and port are no different than analogue RCA after all.
