Custom icons for smart presets

( not a design suggestion )

It has already been requested in other threads that edit of preset picture would be good to have.

As I remember it, WiiM answered that it will come.

I know that, but here I specifically suggested the icons needed. Also, as I recall, the team mentioned editing names, but I don't think they said anything about icons.

Also, it would be nice to have the ability to upload the image, but I think for many users it would be easier to choose from a few custom icons.

Absolutely. But it's the mechanism of WiiM allowing this, I'm not sure how easy that is.

Yes certainly, I'm sure WiiM can add a few extra, probably very many extra, but I suspect that's easier than allowing people to do it themselves.

Others usd to programming the necessary software will know better than I.

They already have the SW to upload pictures for the WiiM Ultra standby screen in the WHA. This is not difficult. Having predefined icons add a bit more work but can be done by having them as preloaded pictures in the WHA SW.

I strongly suspect you're right, and defer to your experience.

Nonetheless, a larger library of icons to choose from would be a great start, and work for 90%+ of uses, and negate the fiddly bit.

On my old Logitech Harmony remote I could (and did) upload icons (for TV channels like the icons for BBC1, BBC, ITV1, C4, etc.), and it was a bit of a faff. Having them there already is great.
