Equaliser Distortion Resolved and PEQ?

I know there was an issue, certainly with the Mini's that the Equaliser was creating some distortion, was this the same with the Pro's and was it resolved or still an ongoing issue?

I've also heard PEQ banded around, is this still in development and if so any expected release date?

I've never used PEQ before, what are meant to be it's advantages over normal.
