External tube phonostage

Just installed my Jolida JD9 tube phonostage to my wiim ultra line input.
The wiim sounds distorted.
Tried changing different input bitrates on the wiim settings but still.
Me thinking might be the wiim can't handle tube input voltage....just guessing
Anyone else experienced?

What’s the output level of your phono stage? Can it be reduced?

I'm not sure the output level reading but is set on high gain.
I missed that setting.
Will try it on low setting n get back.
