https://shop.rbo.org.uk/products/rbo-opera-glassesI would like to see album art with text visible from 3.5m away.
Yes, sure but this thread is about the Ultra screen.Perhaps investing more energy in devellopements on all the Wiim machines , more than just using the small screen of the Ultra, would be more interesting, it seems to me, no?
i know...as often...Yes, sure but this thread is about the Ultra screen.
Asked for ages ago too.Much larger text
How many % of your users do you think prefer using the Ultra screen over the app? I think very few.Hi everyone! We're looking to make improvements to the functionality of the Ultra screen and add some uses for it and we want to know what you think! What if we changed up the current layout of icons on the scree widgets such as Current EQ, Presets, Recently Played, Radio, etc to also be able to do more things that you might otherwise go to the app for.
I'll include some ideas into a poll here, feel free to comment if there's more you'd want to add. Let's keep this to software, we're not talking about a new Ultra here![]()
I think that the touch screen functionality is not that much used. Still nice to have thoughtHow many % of your users do you think prefer using the Ultra screen over the app? I think very few.
So very low priority investment of resources in my opinion and as mentioned before by others here would suggest to get done what is requested (or even promised) here on the forum for months...
what use?Nothing on the list I would be interested in, a decent spectrum analyser viewable from 4.5 metres would be a nice addition.
Free eye candy, might look a bit better than the vu meters?what use?
Agreed, at least it is something you can actually see from a distance and appreciate from a distance unlike textFree eye candy, might look a bit better than the vu meters?
Agree but imo the point of this post/request from WiiM point of view is to focus collecting requirements on bringing "user actions" to the Ultra screen that are already in the app. Maybe I'm misreading Ryan's post however?I think that the touch screen functionality is not that much used. I do use the screen display to see what is playing when playing radios and play lists. So there it would be nice to have it also readable without having to sit just beside it.
As 5 out of the 7 choices on the poll seem to involve multi room or multi device setups, I began to wonder how many people have this type of setup. My hifi is in the lounge under my TV so there ain't much choice in this poll for me and I suspect for quite a few folk. Showing lyrics on the screen would require some mighty powerful spectacles for me to read them from my listening position so that's why I suggested a spectrum analyser, nice and easy to see from a distance and I would have thought it wouldn't be that difficult for the software developers to achieve? Or maybe it would and that's why it hasn't been done yet?Agree but imo the point of this post/request from WiiM point of view is to focus collecting requirements on bringing "user actions" to the Ultra screen that are already in the app. Maybe I'm misreading Ryan's post however?
Agree completely that the visual/display aspect of the screen itself (which I would say is used by a much higher % of users that selects this product) has massive improvement needs/possibilities. That however is a different topic/set of features compared to operating from the screen instead of the app.
Can you figure out how to increase the frame rate to like 20-30hz so they don’t jump around as discontinuously?Better VuMeters
