Can I talk about something serious? 😂

There are currently 4 Ultra playback screens, and this is suggestion for a fifth screen gimmick.

This consists of 2 screens, split vertically.

"A" displays shortcut icons, primarily for device control. e.g., Home menu icons, input/output selection, group selection, etc.

"B" is for music control, track information, etc.

This is a sample of the Home menu icons and clock display.

Next up is the input selector and player.

And I also made a spectrum analyzer and lyrics display, which got a lot of votes...

(Tap the icon on the right to switch to the VU meter.)

The base color and icon theme can be customized. Of course, we can freely combine the functions of A and B as needed 😁

My big wish Stereo dB meter (I cannot manage to call the thing a VU meter because it's not) is not on the list.

I know this is not a specific screen enhancement, but here goes anyway.

Many people are not sitting close enough to the Ultra to use its screen. So, with all these enhancements, it would be nice to have the display also visible in the Wiim Home app, especially on a tablet. That would also allow the display to be cast to a TV. The Home App should also be able to make any of the changes that are made on the touch screen. That would open up the full use of the device to all users, not just those who are close to the display.

Just a thought.

It has been discussed before and partly concluded that there is not enough CPU resources to run a useful analyzer.

As long as WiiM is not able to make a correctly working VU meter, I would not trust them to make a frequency display (spectrum analyzer) anyway.
Spectrum analyzer!!

No. They are all power amp meters.
The WiiM Ultra is a digital pre-amp and shall show volume in dBFS with 0 dbfs as absolute max (all digital value possible).
I'm just talking about the style, not the technicalities. If people want analog style meters, they should just buy some :D

Just the 2 moving bars will show much better on a digital display. Maybe without the text even, because you can't read it from a distance.

Just the 2 moving bars without the text would make even more sense since you can't read it from a distance.
I'm actually trying to use the VU meter to assist in setting input pre-gain so I get full dynamic with some room for EQ. That do however require that the meter show correct values.

That is unfortunate not possible with the latest release of the meters.1000004396.jpg

The current VUs on the WiiM Ultra mess with me when I look at the VUs on my amps because of the crossover frequency between mains and lows; a spectrum analyzer may be more useful in my case. For the time being, I end up using one of the other screens if I have to look at the WiiM Ultra while playing music.
