Flashing white and solid green led after firmware update.

I got back from Holliday. I have been away for three weeks and I noticed that my WIIM pro plus was flashing fast white than solid green. And it keeps repeating. And the reset (holding the play button) does not respond. I have seen that on 14th and 20th new firmware was sent via OTA. I don’t know if this is correct. But my WIIM does not respond to anything. In the app it showed a blue wrench and something of being in support mode. It showed it was connected to my WiFi. But the app clould not find the WIIM. Taking off the power for more than 5 minutes did not do anything. So it is bricked I guess. This is not really acceptable sending OTA updates and bricking hardware. But maybe more people had the same issue. I have sent an email to support as well. But they mentioned this forum. I hope somebody can help me. Tx in advance.

Hi @jeroenvanarkel, sorry to read you're facing this kind of problem.

Are you saying you let your Hi-Fi gear connected to the mains grid when going on holiday for three full weeks? Don't get me wrong (and this is not going to be the main aspect of my reply), but you really shouldn't do that, simply for the sake of security. Lightning strikes are real! Straight from the manual:
11. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time

Also from the manual:
  • WiiM Pro Plus updates automatically when connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Upgrades happen from 2:00-5:00 a.m. in your time zone. During the silent upgrade, there will be no sound and no indication. Upon opening the App, you will see the latest updates made to WiiM Pro Plus.
But of course, firmware updates are surely not meant to break your WiiM Pro Plus. That wouldn't be acceptable.

As for dealing with WiiM Support, it's most efficient to not send requests through email. Better use the WiiM Home app (even if it currently cannot find your device), head over to the "More..." tab on the bottom right and hit "Feedback". If possible, the WiiM Home app will send along device logs to the support team so they might be able to find out about problems not visible on the surface. This is specifically interesting if the app tells you about the device being in "support mode" (luckily, I didn't see this message, yet).

... and I noticed that my WIIM pro plus was flashing fast white than solid green. And it keeps repeating.
Fast flashing white, then solid green would be the normal startup sequence, if it wasn't repeating. Can you try a different power supply? Do you happen to have used a third party power supply? If not, can you try a different one?

I'm positive that WiiM Support will be contacting you. If you send feedback from the WiiM Home app you will be assigned to a ticket number. If you feel that you don't get a response in due time, post your ticket number here, tagging @WiiM Support. I'm sure they will be keen to help.

Good luck!

Thanx for now. I will use a different usb c adapter and even an Ethernet cable in the morning. But my high end system is on a separate fuse in the fusebox and has an special protected high end audio mains switch with fuses for ea h socket. So I sure that is not dangerous. Besides that my marantz KI amp is on always so it is on temp. It has even an temperature meter. To show if it is on operating temperature so yes my audio is always ‘on’. And with lots of power outage or else protection

As an EE I don't approve any of that, but it's unrelated to the issue anyway (I suppose). :D

Status update dd 28-08-2025. I have changed the usb charger with an other one. (Even changed cable etc as i m a techie) And it responded to it positively and the buttons reacted again. So i fully reseted the WIIM and reinstalled everything form scratch. I even found some new features during the installation. So i now have it within the Apple HomeKit and connect via Wifi instead of Bluetooth. I am not aware if there is a better or worse output via wifi above bluetooth or vice versa. But thanks for thinking with me. And when you device is not responcive. flashes white rapidly and than solid bright yellow/Green it has to do with either Amps or Volts being to high or to low.

Funny enough (or maybe just naturally ;)) the same often goes for cars. :D If your dashboard is greeting you with a plenthora of blinking lights and/or rapidly moving pointers it's often just time to replace the battery.

Glad things turned out to be so simple.
