Has anyone get the failure of remote control from my new Wiim Ultra ?

My remote controller from WiiM Ultra stopped working after 1 month. No led light at all. Initially i thought it was the battery. Till then, it has been working perfectly without any issue. I raised a ticket.
Is it correctly paired with the WiiM?

If it has been paired once before it may have gone into standby. Then just press it, wait some seconds and then press again.

The WiiM Remote Control doesn’t have an LED Light on it.

And there's an icon in the WiiM Home app indicating when the remote is paired:

Still not impossible for a remote to become defective, of course.

Issue solved: I unplugged everything and went through the pairing process again. Now it works. Just strange that the remote got dissociated so suddenly.
My ultra’s remote fails to work quite regularly.
I unplug it & plug it back in and it works again.
I find this to be the first step in troubleshooting ALL my electronics almost daily.
No big deal it’s just the way things work anymore

As mentioned e.g. by @hgo58 above, it's usually sufficient to press any button on the remote to wake it up and then wait <= 10 seconds. The next button press should be recognised and the icon should show up in the WiiM Home app (might require closing the app and opening it again).

However, I only ever have to do that when I remove the mains power from the Ultra overnight (and that's what I normally do).

I'm pretty sure that this behaviour is repeatable. Since I got used to this procedure I cannot remember one instance where the remote behaved in an unexpected manner (and yes, it did confuse me in the past).

I can't get my remote to pair with the Ultra either. It will pair with my phone so that's working but not the ultra. I've tried a factory reset too. No joy.

Are the remote and phone in close proximity to the Ultra? Pairing may not work if they are far apart. (Please unpair the phone and remote beforehand.)

Close by. All test pairing cleared beforehand. No joy. Tried a complete reset of the Ultra too.

Ref. Wiim Ultra... Don't know if it helps but for those who've had no response from their remote, I had the same thing at first because the guidelines state:

Pair Your Remote
1. Insert two “AAA" batteries into the remote.
2. Press the "Source Select" and "Mute" buttons** on the remote simultaneously for two seconds.
3. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the pairing of the remote.

But this is the incorrect procedure as far as I can tell. I connected mine successfully by going:

1. In the app go to 'Devices'
2. In the Wiim Ultra device select the settings icon
3. Scroll down to 'Remote'
4. Select pair remote and it should connect after a few seconds

Worked for me anyway!

The first procedure isn't necessarily wrong. It's the procedure to follow during initial setup, when the device isn't fully configured, yet.

I am a bit puzzled that you can pair your remote without setting it into pairing mode (pressing "Source" and "Mute" simultaneously. Has the remote been successfully paired before?

If so, you might not even have to follow the second procedure. My WiiM devices (Amp, Ultra and Amp Pro) apparently "loose" the connection to their remote whenever the mains supply has been cut. However, all it needs in this case is pressing any button and waiting ~10 seconds. After this short wait the remote is functional each and every time I have tried it.

What puzzles me even more is this screen from the WiiM Home app 3.1.3:

It implies that there is a 2nd-gen remote that does not need 2 AAA batteries to be inserted.

@RyanWithWiiM, @WiiM Team, @WiiM Support, did I miss any exciting news? :)

Yeah, saw this a few days ago - assume there's a rechargeable one on its way.
Good thing too the way mine eats batteries!

My WiiM remote pairs without issue, and all buttons work without a problem. But I cannot get voice to work. I have two WiiM mini’s. I’ve tried pairing and unpairing with both. Just cannot get voice to work. When I press the voice button, the music doesn’t dim while I have the mic button pressed. But after I speak the command nothing happens. The light on the WiiM mini flashes red a couple of times after I finish speaking. I thought it was an Alexa problem. But even if I unpair from Alexa, even the basic voice commands which are native to WiiM do not work. Even simple stuff like play and pause. Voice commands used to work when I bought the remote few months. But stopped working at some point. I’ve tried replacing with fresh batteries as well. Even reset a WiiM to factory settings and retried. That didn’t fix it either. Anyone have any pointers?

Hi dragonfly,

It looks like your WiiM Mini isn’t currently registered with your Amazon Alexa account. Please open the WiiM Home App, go to the Browse tab, tap on Amazon Alexa, and log in to your account.
If it still doesn’t work, kindly send us a feedback ticket, and we’ll troubleshoot the issue right away. Thank you for your patience and support!

Just a data point. I have two Wiim remotes. One with my Ultra and the other with a Pro+ in another room. Both work fine without issue for pause/play, on/off, track forward & back, volume adjustment and presets. The Pro+ remote was even paired with my other Pro for awhile and had no problem changing the pairing when I changed.

The WiiM Mini is definitely registered with Alexa. In fact I tried logging off and registering again to get voice to work. Even tried deregistering directly via the Alexa app and registered again. Whatever I try, voice does not work. I will open a feedback ticket like you suggest.
