HDMI Arc not working on LG OLED 65B46LA

Not sure if it helps you out, but I have an LG GX oled (2022 model) and to get it to work with my Sonos soundbar via HDMI out/eARC I had to disable "eARC" and only set it to "ARC", and then change the output to "PCM".
Else it would not detect/send sound.

I confirm. I replaced B4 with C4 and HDMI arc works very well, there is sound, you can control wiim amp, tv decoder.

Just wanted to confirm that I also have an LG B4 / Wiim Amp combo, and ARC does not work. Using optical or a line out DAC is a workaround, but I believe I'd lose hdmi-cec volume control via my AppleTV remote.

Have you tried the following:
"On the TV, disable "eARC" and only set it to "ARC", and then change the output to "PCM", power cycle both devices."

Yep- I’ve read through this entire thread and all other related threads several times.

I have LG B4 and I have the same problem - no sound on ARC. But volume control via hdmi is working, I can control Wiim Amp by Apple Tv or Lg remote.

My actual solution is connect hdmi and optical to wiim. Hdmi is for volume control, optical for audio. This configuration generate one problem: on boot tv I have automatic source on “tv”, not “optical in” (in wiim)

Hey its not stupid if it works :)
But HDMI ARC should work without any additional combinations...

@WiiM Support maybe you can introduce separate options for "Auto-sensing of Optical In" and "Auto-sensing of HDMI"? This could eliminate the need for my automatic switching script.

I have also done all of these things, same issue on 48" B4. Support said they escalated it, but I haven't heard anything in about a week. For now optical is working, but I'd like the CEC commands.

You can try connect optical and hdmi. Optical for audio and hdmi for volume control, for me works (LG B4 55inch). The one thing is, wiim boot on source “TV”, not “Optical”.

Wiim amp pro just arrived. Can confirm that It's not working for me. Am I right that the ultra doesn't seem to have this issue? That's the most natural alternative for me.

Why I cannot stand HDMI, at least with coaxial/optical the source always sends the audio out, even if the avr is switched off. There is no interruption on the signal on

Just want to chime in that my 55” LG B4 also has this issue, no sound using hdmi arc but cec controls work.

So I decided to purchase a service remote for LG TVs and entered the service menus to see what I could find, and while the tv is in “power only” mode, the wiim amp works as it should over hdmi arc. It shows up correctly in the audio output menu and didnt require any settings to be changed. But, when you exit the “power only” mode and proceed with the TVs initial setup, it stops working again.

Not sure what to try next, but it’s starting to seem like its an LG software issue on the B4 models

Interesting information. The question is, where we can report the issue for LG?

I have tried going through their procedures but it always winds up with them wanting to schedule a time for a remote technician to walk me through the setup. Their availability is limited and I travel for work so I’ve mostly given up for now. I doubt it’ll be much help anyway since it just looks like a setup service and not bug reporting. Ive been using optical while hoping for an update and keeping an eye on these and other forums.
