Headphones

I have two headphone DACs which I used frequently a few years ago:

Fiio E10K Olympus 2
xDuoo X3 II (also a 384kHz/32bit Music Player with AK4490 and apt-x BT)
Excellent.. on those dongle dacs i often use my IEM,s.
I think my next iem will be the Aful performer 5.
Recently i bought a cheaper model from 7 Hz..very pleased with this IEM.

Just googled: Very nice design, I'm curious to see how you like them 👍
👍😊..I will let you know..i will buy them soon.

I think the Fiio FT1 or the FT1 pro are also very good ..
But if i purchase them I think i will also buy the Fiio k11 or K11 R2R.
Or..maybe a Geschelli labs dac for this headphones..

The FT1 has gotten goods marks from youtube reviewers.
I like my K11 (standard version) very much. Good value I think.
FYI, there is currently a sale at the popular online retailer whose name begins with the letter "L".

Looking also very good, would be my favored design...

I stopped using in-ears relatively early on: I bought the Soundcore Life P2 to see if it was for me. I have the problem that when I walk, my footsteps are transmitted into my head, you hear every step very intensely (muffled)... so I only really use in-ears when I'm lying in bed and want to listen to some music before falling asleep (and if you turn on your side, there's no annoying headband etc).

Maybe start a cushion insoles thread, and get some recommendations?

...I would be a rare guest 🙃 The soundcores came with different sizes. Didn't really work for me. I'll stick with headphones with headband (unless I'm going in the bed with the danger of falling asleep).

Until.a couple of years ago I used a pair of Sennheiser HD570's which my Wife bought me as a Christmas present in 1999.

I replaced these with a pair of Sennheiser HD660S's, equalized using the link below as a starting point. I play them through a Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200M DAC/headphone amp.

I also have a pair of Etymotic ER3XR earbuds, which I use with an old iPod when out and about, particularly when travelling by plane or the London Underground as they give excellent noise isolation

Maybe using some other eartips will help?
My IEM,s i also use for critical listening..
For listening to some podcast in bed i have my soundcore sleep a 20,s.
Very pleased with these.. you dont feel them..very tiny in Ears.

I can’t stand IEMs no matter which I try they always irritate my ears and most fall out.

Fit is important..
Every ear canal is different.
Depends on how much effort they made to make good earbuds.
I have no problem with a good fit..i think i mostly like those made from resin, plastic in stead of metal. They are lighter..but you can get a good fit with metal ones too.
Choosing the right eartips is very important with IEM,s. Has the earbud a long nozzle or not..such things you will have to take notice of when choosing the right eartip, buds.
Sometimes the stock ones are good enough..it could be the case one has to try better ones.
On one of my metal IEM,s i did chooses memory foam eartips..it gives a good fit , one can hear more bass.
I recently bought an IEM from 7 hz..the eartips that came with it where good enough.
They are light..with a good fit..very nice IEM.

You can get lots of information on this topic in youtube or Reddit forum.

In order to be able to walk with my (now after 16 years sadly deceased 😢) dog in the countryside and notice approaching cars from behind, I bought the following headphones instead of in-ears, which I now also use in summer when mowing the lawn. I have to say, they have an amazingly good sound for (only) SBC headphones and their price. JLab Rewind 😀

Yes, optically, according to my memories, it was these... I was very taken with them as a child/teenager and somehow ended up with Sennheiser again and again 😃

Oh my days, these were my first headphones! I remember the excitement as a teenager of listening to Bob Marley's Uprising for the first time with these.. The same LP was on my turntable last week, still going strong 💪

I have a very minimal setup but use the optical output to feed my Sennheiser RS-175 RF headphones. The RF signal lets me walk around in different rooms while listening and not lose the signal like a bluetooth setup might. I use a splitter to also feed my TV into the optical in on the Sennheisers. When I don’t mind being tethered by wire I use a pair of self-modded Fostex T-50RP’s.

What's everybody using to drive their headphones? :
Headphone out on WiiM Ultra?
3rd party headphone amp CONNX to USB out on WiiM Ultra?
something else?
I'm using the line output on a WiiM Pro, this provides plenty of volume to go far too loud for comfort, and it sounds excellent. I certainly have no need for an external headphone amplifier.
