How to remove Sound / Sound Lite as "Google Cast" options under spotify connect? I have already disabled Google Cast in the device settings.

My Spotify Connect list currently shows:

1. This Phone
2. WiiM Ultra
3. Bedroom [A Stereo Pair of Sonos Ones]
4. All [A Wiim Group consisting of Wiim Ultra, Sound, Sound Lite]
5. MyPC
6. Sound (Google Cast)
7. Sound Lite (Google Cast)

In the Wiim App, in the Sound and Sound Lite settings, Google Cast is not enabled. I have disabled it in the Wiim Ultra setting and this has removed it from the Spotify options, but the Sound/SL option persists.

Any ideas?

After enabling Google Cast, you need to disable "Allow Google Cast services."

I've recently been experiencing an issue with spotify whereby my two wiim devices are defaulting to google cast rather than spotify connect (see attached). I don't have google cast enabled in the app for either device and have never intentionally used this connection option previously. The only workaround Ive found so far is to quit both apps and then turn wifi off and back on (sometimes need to do this twice) to get the spotify connect option to show and work again. Anyone else experienced this or have advice on how to fix it?

This is a known issue affecting some smartphones...

Bizarre but thanks that solved it. Both are now appearing as direct connections now on Spotify
