Input selection using remote

First off, as this is my first post, I just want to say I'm truly impressed with my WiiM Ultra.

I only use 2 inputs: Ethernet for streaming, and optical for audio from my computer. When switching between the two sources using the supplied remote, I have to go through all the other input sources, and sometimes there is a delay as I'm pressing the button - especially when scrolling through the Bluetooth.

My question: Is there a way to change it in the settings so that when I use the input selector button from the remote, that just the 2 I use are toggled to one or the other?

If no, as I suspect from trying to figure this out myself, is there another way to make this a smoother process. I'm switching back and forth a lot, and am finding this frustrating.

Also, when I switch back to Ethernet, the station I was streaming before I switched to optical does not come back on automatically - is there a way to make that happen?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You may use the first 2 Presets to select the input (and others) and then use the buttons 1 and 2 on the remote to select it.

Use smart presets to define what you want in each scenario, say for presets one and two which map on to the corresponding remote buttons.

Figured it out. You first have to play the optical in, go to the player screen on the app, press the 3 dots, select "add to presets" and go from there. It seems I could not do it from the Smart preset page.

Thanks for the help, it works great now.

There certainly should be an input to select. This has been the primary function of presents, after all, before they became "smart". :D

This is for the WiiM Amp Pro, but that shouldn't make a difference.

Can you share the steps to create a Smart Preset that when pressed plays the last station you were streaming?

From the favourites tab, you can show the preset page, then select an empty one to set up a smart preset without having to preset playable contents first.

When I have already made the "optical in" a preset, "Audio Input" does indeed show on that screen, but at that point, it does not need changing. But it does not show if you already have a station as the preset - which of course makes sense. That is where I made my mistake at first: I was trying to find it when I had a station as the preset. Not that bright of me, but I'm still trying to get comfortable with the myriad of tweaks that the Ultra can do.

To answer Doublej, it is automatic when you press one of the first 4 presets on the remote, at least that is my experience now. On the app, any of the presets will do it. So, in my case, preset 1 is a vTuner station, and preset 2 is the optical in for my computer. When I press 1 on my remote, or select the first preset from the app, it starts playing right away. When I press 2 on the remote or choose the 2nd preset on the app (or WiiM screen on the WiiM Ultra itself), it starts playing the computer output.

Don’t think you can do that as you need to select content or leave it empty, it doesn’t have a “remember last” feature.
