Multichannel vs Stereo audio track from same input source

Hi all, just checking since I couldn't find the answer, but I suspect there no fix (yet) for the following issue :

Wiim Ultra grouped with Wiim Pro, Smart TV feeding Wiim ultra through optical.
When the source video has compatible multichannel audio track, Wiims are playing multichannel Front and Surround just fine.
However when the video has stereo audio track, both Wiims are playing the same stereo soundtrack (both Wiims plays the main stereo track) which makes such videos unlistenable. In the group screen, I can see the slave Wiim pro switching from multichannel surround to duplicate stereo when source track is switched to stereo.
--> Is there a way to set the grouped Wiims to play multichannel when compatible source feed, but play only on master Wiim (Ultra) when source track is only stereo ? (other than manually un-grouping Wiims obviously...)

Hi
No, as you suspected, it's not possible to automatically switch group configurations based on source differences. I hope the Input Sound Profile feature will enable this in the future, but it seems like a long road ahead.

Currently, the simplest solution is to mute the surround speakers (WiiM pro).

Just to confirm, is the left/right placement of the surround speakers correct? As shown in this image, the surround speakers must be placed in the same configuration as the front speakers. (Sorry for the silly question..)

Thanks for confirmation. Too bad, multichannel is working brilliantly but I can't afford any manual action every time the source track is not compatible. I'll have to go without it I'm afraid.

Sure it is, Wiim pro handling both surround speakers with appropriate left/right channels
