Introducing the WiiM Edition of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII

WiiM must have agreed to allow them to use the software whatever they say now on the website. W for wireless, who is going to believe that? Are the old Audio Pro speakers not wireless?
As far as I’m aware, Linkplay licensed the software and still do, and it’s easier for Audio Pro marketing to keep the “W” designation with a slightly lame explanation as what it stands for than to re-brand and then deal with subsequent unwanted attention. For those of us familiar with both brands and their history/plans we can guess what’s happened but for most consumers, it’s just a name. Other than that, I think the audio pro faq page tells us more than I might have expected them to reveal.

Another article adding to the confusion... 🤔
Looks like the Wiim app cannot access the Audio Pro W speakers, although it would be good to get confirmation of that.

From this article

"Note: The W-generation speakers are not discoverable in the WiiM app and therefore cannot be grouped with WiiM’s ecosystem of streamers, amplifiers or wireless speakers."

That’s not what audio pro say on their website though…

Still much confusion. What exactly are you quoting? What I see in the FAQs is very non-committal.

Can you use the WiiM app to control Audio Pro products?

We are aware that this might work, but we can never guarantee any functionality using a third-party app, whether it is the WiiM app or any other. We always recommend using the audio pro app to control our speakers.

It might work unless WiiM block it which is quite likely.

That’s what I was referring to. Yes, it’s still non-communal but not the same as what the article said.

I wouldn’t be that negative in light of what they said here:
