Please review the app update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us.

App Release Version
  • iOS: 3.1.5
  • Android: 3.1.6
The iOS app is now available, while the Android app is still under review.

What's New:
  1. Browse Screen Enhancements: Input sources now appear at the top, and sections can be rearranged for a more personalized experience.
  2. TIDAL Daily Discovery: Added support for TIDAL’s "Daily Discovery" mix for curated music recommendations.
  3. Hot Mix Radio: Now supports Hot Mix radio stations (not available in the US).
  4. Preset Enhancements: Includes recommended preset names and allows adding radio stations from unified search directly to presets.
  5. Headphone Output Level Adjustment: Customize the headphone output level for optimal audio performance (requires an upcoming firmware update).
  6. USB Indexing Enhancements: Improved album indexing for better browsing and organization (requires an upcoming firmware update).
  7. VU Meter Mode: Choose whether the VU Meter displays the original signal or output signal level (requires an upcoming firmware update).
  8. [Android] Artwork Display Fix: Resolved an issue affecting artwork display.

For #6 USB Indexing Enhancements addressing the album indexing issue, you need to perform a full rescan of your USB disk. Tap the More button at the top right corner of the USB Media Library page → Rescan USB DiskFull Scan to apply the fix.

Just did a full scan of my usb disc be warned it broke all my playlists in my music got to recreate them all sigh😒

I tried VuMeter mode. Not that much has changed. The needle almost always remains stuck to the right in both modes.
As I have said here and written many times to @WiiM Support and @WiiM Team they should put an attenuator via software, like the Topping D70Pro or Octo, which give the possibility to choose two different sensitivity levels.

Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, but Hotmix radio appears to be just 128kbps, with no track information or artwork, nor can you set one as a prefix. Is that likely to change?

I think the problem is that the scale is logarithmic but the needle movements are not.

A proper scale (dBFS) and a correctly calibrated movement would be good.

Had a look at dB meter on input:
With a -20 dBFS test signal the needle stays at -10 dB. With a -10 dBFS signal it stays at 0 dB.

The needle stays a lot in the red on rock and pop records mastered to peak close to 0dBFS, even those that are not loudness wars victims. Try some Mahler if you like to see movement.

I cannot see any impact of the volume control, at least on optical out.

What I do see is that the rather helpless TUES has reverted back to TUE on the two clock face displays.

Did you try a 0 dBFS signal?
How many bits in the volume?

Don't seem to fit the normal conversion.

No, the only signals I had on hand were 1 kHz -10 and -20 dB.
For input I’d be happy to see the meter relative to 0 dBFS, and in stereo. The finer readouts like in your illustration I think is beyond the scope of WiiM products.

The calculation is actually simple as it is just 32 equal steps (if 32 bit integer volume) where each step indicate what high bit is set . All bites set is 0 dBFS.

The scale cn be defined to fit that.

Come to think of it, why isn't there a single view that shows the current volume setting at all times in nice big, bold numbers? I don't always want to change the volume or pull the app up to check current numerical playback level. Would love a view that shows the current volume level and also output sample rate & bit depth.

Nothing has changed for me, because the changes require an upcoming firmware update, as mentioned in post #1 No 7.

Yeah, I’m not thrilled about 128kbps neither…

Looking at their standalone app, there does seem to be a “premier” subscription that might offer higher resolution and artwork. Maybe that’s something that WiiM might add in the future if there’s enough interest.

There’s always one of the Radio Paradise channels to fall back on…
