WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.709956 - Mar 6, 2025

WiiM only seem to have the 96kbps international streams anyway even in the UK so will they all disappear for everyone?
It’s looking like it from my reading of that. I guess a VPN won’t necessarily get round it either as it refers to uk users still being able to use it while abroad, so I guess it’ll be account based. And I’d suspect setting up an account might not be possible if it detects the use of a VPN.

Also, I wonder what it’ll mean for the excellent BBC Sounds plugin on LMS, even though that uses the official BBC Sounds API although perhaps not officially if you follow me…

I’ll see if I can find any comment on the Lyrion forums

I've noticed that despite renaming the presets in the app, the preset names on my Ultra screen remain unchanged. I've updated to the latest firmware and verified the settings, but the issue persists. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

The renaming looks like being only local to the WHA app. It's not updated on the WiiM Ultra or in the WHAs running on other devices.

This has been like that since first introduced in last WHA update on 2025-02-25.

Probably a design error?

Yeah, very peculiar design decision if that’s what it was…

Works for me since I-din't-know-when ... :)
If you Say It works for you please indicate what firmware version you have as we all know that older firmwares worked likes charm and this issue came recently with the latest firmware releases. When someone makes a reply to a known issue must give details of why it works otherwise he damages the credibility of others that have the issue.

If it is this issue you said it was a recent bug 🤔

I didn't say "recent", did I?

I said "this is considered a bug introduced with the latest feature update for USB scanning" and I chose that wording for a reason.

I didn't have problems with Various Artists albums 3 weeks ago and I don't have them now. Neither with my WiiM Amp Pro FW 5.2.707244 nor with my WiiM Ultra FW 5.2.708654. WiiM Home app version 3.1.4 or 3.1.5, no difference.

Firmware announcement threads are generally not the best place to discuss issues not mentioned in the release notes at all.

I'm still waiting for the option to cease all communication/power sharing via USB, so my DAC can finally go to sleep.

Also, there's a bug when programmed to turn off display when on Standby. If I turn the unit off from the remote, the screen does turn off, but if the Ultra times out and goes to sleep on its own, the screen shows the clock forever untill tuned back on and something is played.

Hi I'm new here. Sorry if this has been asked 100 times, but how does one get an updated Android app to take advantage of these new features? I have the March 6 FW (5.2.709956) for the Ultra. I can see on the display that the Ultra is receiving a Dolby Digital signal. I don't see any options via the app to configure anything beyond stereo/mono. My app version is in the attachment. Thanks!
