iOS WiiM Home App v3.1.5 & Android v3.1.6 Update – March 11, 2025

(ps the " pregain" set to positive on the digital sources are really looking for trouble like peq etc)
It's extremely useful for sources with a known (too) low level. That's my take on it. :)

Might be dangerous for those who don't know what they are doing, but these people might not even find the feature. ;)

This is where the concept of "warning" is often useful....

("low level in digital".. tv?)

Exactly. And of course the digitised analogue input, where the actual level may be anything from very high to very low.
I didn't say it couldn't have a use... but warnings and an "overload" could still be useful ;-)

VU Meter Mode: Choose whether the VU Meter displays the original signal or output signal level (requires an upcoming firmware update).
I tried VuMeter mode. Not that much has changed. The needle almost always remains stuck to the right in both modes.
As I have said here and written many times to @WiiM Support and @WiiM Team they should put an attenuator via software, like the Topping D70Pro or Octo, which give the possibility to choose two different sensitivity levels.
Nothing has changed for me, because the changes require an upcoming firmware update, as mentioned in post #1 No 7.
Yes, and I've the new FW
Which version number is it?
5.2.709956 on my IPAD
That is the same version that I have, and it doesn't work because as mentioned above, it requires an upcoming firmware update. The version we both have predates the latest app version, so there is obviously a newer version expected to make this feature work.

I use both Android and iOS versions. For the Android version I had to uninstall and reinstall Home App. It was irresponsive sometimes and always crashed when I pressed Browse and the USB input.
Now it's all fine!

PS - one issue in the Android version. It ignores replay gain setting. With iOS APP all works fine. I raised a ticket via feedback in the Android APP.

I recently linked headphones via Bluetooth. The volume control in the app had to be turned up for the desired level about 76. The next day I switched to optical out, which goes into an amp, powering Klipsch Forte IVs. Not realizing

I recently Bluetoothed headphones to a wiim mini. After connecting I turned the app volume to 76. The next day I switched back to optical out. The optical out goes to an amp which powers a pair of Klipsch Forte IVs and a Klipsch Sub. Not realizing the app volume was still set to 76 I pressed play, and then jumped out of my skin because of LOUD!!! maybe the software can reset the volume to a predetermined setting between output setting changes. My avr has a default setting which does that upon power up.

Yesterday I had the new home screen layout, but today it seems to have reverted to the old style somehow. App version is definitely 3.1.6. What's happening?

Oops, sorry, my mistake! I was looking for the source buttons and was looking at the Home screen instead of the Browse screen 😁
