I’ve been testing and using free trials for a few of the big streaming services out there.

And I couldn’t help thinking, what does the WiiM community use and prefer.

We all love some lossless, and high fidelity sound, while others enjoy the ease of use and navigation to their favourite songs.

What say you, what’s your pick :)

Most of the time just lossless music from my own server. Don’t like to pay for service which I don’t use often, like there could be days that I don’t listen to music and still it’s needs to be pay.

But if choosing one, I guess Tidal is my preference.

Quite surprised that Tidal has such an early lead and Apple Music lacking

After the research I did, it sounded like 🍎 Music was rather a great middle ground adapter amongst music enthusiasts and streamers.

Depending on the phone you have I guess?

Let’s gooooo!!

I have Qobus, Tidal and Spotify available.
Qobus for technical quality. I mostly listen to classical music at home/with WiiM.
Spotify for accessibility and on the move.
Tidal when all else fails.

The US users are still sleeping ;)

I've only recently moved into the "budget audiophile" space - For years, even when I was growing up, my father had the best sound kit. I was never really into any of it.

However, for the last few years, 4-5 years, music just felt empty and lifeless (Youtube was my main driver for streaming music) I decided to bump my Logitechs out of the office/gaming space and moved to a kit that brought me some increased sound clarity and life back into my music. The kit was an Edifier R1280DBs and a Polk 10" PSW10 (Edies don't have that lows)

I was rocking this for a few years, but always felt like I wanted MORE clarity, more thump, more drum hits to come alive. Introducing the WiiM Amp, I googled and found quite a few other alternatives for half the price, but there was always something wrong with the cheaper AMP/DAC's, I kept falling back to the WiiM but couldn't justify the budget stretch (Considering I need passive speakers as well to go with the WiiM Amp)

One day, I saw a set of Polk's XT15 (MXT15) for 151$ and grabbed them, Crutchfield reviews were full-blown 5 stars on these so I was happy! WiiM Amp was my next search, eventually I came across a local dealer in the area that could cut the price down with another 20$ = 431$ for my upgrade.
Sold my Edies to a friend that wanted them and wanted to say goodbye to his logitechs as well ;)

Bringing me here, in search of a streaming platform, I personally like YTM purely on the basis of how easy it is to find your song and it's suggestion algorithm. Recently, Spotify has overshadowed YTM completely. Then I remembered, I have a 3-month free trial with Apple Music that I can test.

So for me it's:
YTM
Spotify
Apple Music

In that order - Ranking it from least to most liked.

I added AirPlay to my Ultra for Apple Music. The difference between Airplay and lossless is negligible. Works great for me in my scenario.
