So, firmware 5.0.613551 brought us per-source EQ. So far, so good.

Playing around in the WiiM Home app it seems that we can only ever change EQ settings for the currently active input. But how can I apply EQ to the USB input, only?

As soon as the USB input is chosen, the amp switches input to WiFi automatically. I haven't tried Ethernet so far, so I don't know how that would behave.

For my own and everybody else's reference:

The USB input doesn't have an EQ setting on its own. Selecting the USB input starts the in-built media server, so then contents of the USB storage device is accessed as served through the currently active network interface, either WiFi or Ethernet.

Also, by now the EQ settings can be changed for any input, not just for the currently active input.

Yes I was a little disappointed to find EQ (and presumably therefore Room correction) is not available when playing back files via USB. Is that a choice, or a hardware/signal flow limitation?

We’ve identified an issue in our app where the EQ settings are visible when playing USB tracks. A new app update to resolve this will be released in a few days. Thank you for your patience!

Can you make it clear what this actually means, it makes no sense to me. What issue are you trying to resolve?

Yes, looks like WiiM Team is misunderstanding the question.

As already explained before:

There is no USB input. An attached USB storage is seen internally as a disk and is handle by a "media player" running on the WiiM. So the playback will be seen as a network stream (called WiFi or Ethernet) and the EQ is assigned to that input type.

Oh right, I will check this again. I just saw there was no EQ section for the USB input so figured it wasn't available! I'll double check the the Wifi/network inputs EQ when using USB. Thanks. :)
