New Roadmap

Looks like a lot, but unfortunately the two features that I am most interested in (and actually - already confirmed by WiiM as “coming soon” quite a while ago) are missing on the list, being:
a) more presets (like, say: 32 - and access to more then 8 of them from the remote), without it usability of presets is quite limited in my setup (4 favorite radio stations and 2 favorite outputs leave me with only two “free” presets to use for adding e.g. favorite records or playlists).
b) ability to assign room correction to each of the outputs (or: as WiiM suggested - to particular presets) - without it the entire room correction makes very little sense in my setup (Ultra connected to two amps / speaker sets used alternatively - before switching output I must always remember to dig (deep!) into the menus to change room correction into the right one).

I recollect that “more presets” was a quite popular demand among user base and adding the ability to link RC profile to output could not be THAT difficult, thus those omissions make me very disappointed.

EDIT: It seems item 2) is being taken care of - just did not notice this while reviewing the list:

  • Advanced Profile Management: Transfer correction data across devices, map "RoomFit" to specific presets, and utilize Expert Mode for weighted measurements and deeper analysis.

The universal hi-res multi-room update in the roadmap made me look at my current set up and I noticed that hi-res multi room works natively within the wiim app now. That wasn't the case in the past when I last checked. I didn't know it had changed! Nice!

What did you do and where did you infer that? When I link two WiiM devices, they max out at 16/48

Is it me, i see 'bass dynamics' in the app all the sudden without doing an update. And my profiles for roomfit and eq are gone. Not cool at all.

I'm interested in one phrase

"enjoy a complete listening experience without reaching for your phone. "

I note that this is talking about the touchscreen, but once the navigation is built, maybe, just maybe, they'll consider utilising the up, down, left, right and middle buttons on the remote.

At that point, I'll retire my minis, put my pro plusses where they are and get 2 more ultras :)

This morning, I found a new roadmap.

I'm sorry if I interrupted @RyanWithWiiM's work, but I couldn't stand it..😩
@Wiimer - want to wish you the very best in the new year and thank you for all your support in this forum. Time to change your username to F1 - and NO not like the racing F1. 👍

After Long Time :

Adaptive Dynamic Loudness: An intelligent EQ algorithm utilizing Fletcher-Munson curves to preserve bass and treble detail during low-volume listening.

Yes, but the problem is that the Fletcher-Munson curves are relative to acoustic level and not to amp volume.
Hence, to work well, they should be configured for the speakers in use.
I hope it will be possible...

I note that this is an Ultra update but there are not similar updates for other devices like Mini, Pro, Pro Plus, Amp and Amp Pro. The roadmaps for them are still Oct. 2024. I hope this does not mean that only the Ultra will get these new features but that there is simply a delay in updating the other Roadmaps. It would be nice to have updated roadmaps for all the other devices to confirm their update paths.

Yes it will need a method of calibration. How would you do it? Maybe measure SPL at a particular volume setting.

I would suggest to measure SPL at four or five volume settings, to compensate the non linearity of the volume control.

The (purposefully designed) non-linearity of the volume control should be fully known and not require any user action to account for it.

But you're absolutely right, the sensitivity of the speakers, the listening distance and the gain of the power amplifier are unknown (since we're talking about the Ultra here). With any of the integrated amps it's still speaker sensitivity and listening distance, so some sort of adjustment is still needed.

I think it's not by chance that "Dynamic Bass" has been implemented in the WiiM Sound first.
