New Wiim of my dreams :)

I dream of a new version of a small player similar to the Wiim Pro, but with some more "audiophile" features. It could be a pure transport without a DAC. It would have femto oscillators, galvanic isolation for a good USB output, a small basic display (here "borrowed" from Denon, simple and functional - a monochrome OLED, no need to show the covers). It could also have a slot for M.2 drives, which are very small and easy to implement in such a device. It would be a killer among similar devices

They could always put in an option to turn off the screen, much like the Direct mode option that most receivers have.

Not always but when the music really get's me ...

And yet there's no significant difference in measured noise level in the audible band between WiiM Pro Plus (no screen) and Ultra (screen), and neither is there any between WiiM Amp Ultra (screen) and Amp Pro (no screen).

To my knowledge there's no evidence that the screen introduces any kind of audible performance detriment to existing WiiM devices, so I'd personally just advise people to select whichever device best suits their needs.

I certainly don't hear any noise on neither my Amp Pro nor Amp Ultra!

Ever listen to Chemical Brothers? Their music seems taylor-made for people with that condition.

I admit I dabble in Chemical Brothers listening sessions occasionally for a change of pace. It can be quite the treat, especially with headphones.

Maybe not most of the time, but certainly some of the time, depending on what I’m listening to, I like to close my eyes and just zone out. Especially new-age-y stuff. Like Amethystium I’m listening to right now. And then I need a cigarette.

Excellent, yes; really enjoy New Age. Deuter, Andreas Vollenweider, Shadowfax, Acoustic Alchemy. Great stuff for winding down at night.
