Squeezelite No artist or album listings in LMS search results

There is a reason for that. It works.
WiiM Home App on its own with any DLNA/UPnP server is absolute rubbish and without BubbleUPnP is almost unusable - but you know that!

I didn't know lms is better search for sade shoes everything in one page
:D

Now, this is great advice. Although no one has said that in this thread. You're the first.
In this thread perhaps but a lot elsewhere by @simbun and others including me. Your thread did start with you having installed LMS so answers have been in that context. Wiim's Squeezlite/LMS implementation is as a player, not a control point so isn't designed to access LMS as a server, and the LMS upnp media server is an old unsupported plugin.
Try minimserver instead of LMS :)

Thanks - that was the thread on just connecting, as opposed to getting search results to work properly.

I've made those changes and the search results problem still exists, so I'm going to file a bug on the WiiM side.

Strangely, the thing everyone's been bringing up in this thread - browsing, not searching (the topic of the thread) - works "fine" on the WiiM app when accessing LMS.

So is minim server no better than LMS?

In my experience, no. But I'm not using the paid version, haven't really looked into it, I just have the free version of my NAS.

Although I have no need for it now, since the UPNP bridge now works, I'll be uninstalling minimserver right now haha

You are trying to use in an unsupported mode as MANY have now told you. It is a bug that can't be fixed.

I have just installed the Media Interface plugin in LMS and see exactly the same behaviour...
Yes it's a limitation of the LMS UPnP/DLNA Media Interface as I stated near the beginning of the thread:

I'm not trying to convince the OP one way or another, just answer the question :)

Appreciate your point, but I couldn't find info on this specific problem.
To your point about WiiM's implementation as a player... how do other players (Squeeze Ctrl, Orange Squeeze) manage to have their search results work properly? Seems like WiiM should be able to do the same.
That said... time to file a ticket & spin up minimserver...

Orange squeeze, Material Skin app, the old Logitech LMS apps are just control software, communicating to the server via IP.

I've used a few, and Material Skin app is the best. A couple of others weren't too bad, I can't remember which one- one did cache the artwork database to the phone so that sped up the interface a lot, but LMS caches /resizes it now so it's fast.

Having LMS on the NAS is probably the easiest, as LMS and music on the same device. If you have a decent NAS with Intel CPU, docker and allows LMS 9 that's good enough.

Pi is a bit more fiddly, but not that expensive, less than £100.

Material skin is also the UI for lms is of you access lms on computer. Change from old classic scheme

How do other LMS clients make search work?
By using the LMS Default or Material interface which is how WiiM intend. In the same way as you can only use Roon with the Roon interface.

The confusion here lies in the fact that the ancient UPnP/DLNA Media Interface plugin does allow the WiiM App to see LMS but is NOT supported.

As almost everyone has told you. If you want to use LMS use one of its interfaces and forget the WiiM Home App. If you must use the WiiM Home App for searching local files then use something other than LMS but prepare to be disappointed. This part of the WiiM Home App is poor no matter what server you use.

Squeeze Ctrl and Orange Squeeze etc are getting results from LMS directly and the WiiM app is only communicating with LMS via the outdated plugin.

So is minim server no better than LMS?
Licensed MinimServer is much more configurable but you have to work within the constraints of UPnP (essentially lists of lists), but you can still make it look decent.

Really for those who want more control over how their tags are presented.

The free version offers everything I would classify as the basics, except recently added.

Screenshots are from BubbleUPnP.

What's weird is that half the advice tells me to use the bridge, and the other half tells me not to use the bridge.

The ones telling you to use the bridge think you want to play to a DLNA player from LMS. The bridge allows WiiM streamers or other players that support DLNA to appear as LMS players. WiiM players apart from the Mini then appear twice in the player list, once as a Squeezelite player and again as a DLNA player.

It's not a WiiM bug, but fine.

Access LMS using a different control point and you'll see the same e.g. BubbleUPnP, mconnect e.t c.
Did you look at the screen shots I posted? Info that should show up in all categories only showing up in 1? To an end user, that's a bug.

And, I have accessed LMS from other clients: Squeeze Ctrl and Orange Squeeze. Their search works fine. I don't care how they do it, just that they do do it. And, if they can, WiiM should be able to, as well. Adding to that, browsing in WiiM gives me the same information, just presented differently. Seems like a data structure problem, not an impossibility.

They're not using the UPnP/DLNA Media Interface. The problem is with the plugin.
