My speaker takes a single 3.5 in. Which output do I use on the back of the Ultra? Coax out of one of the line out ports?

If the 3.5mm aux socket is an analogue one then yes. RCA analogue out from the WiiM. But not just from one of the sockets but from both. There are double RCA to single 3.5mm jack cables.

There are also 3,5mm optical connections. In that case opt out from the WiiM.

There are two outputs red and black - does it matter which one I connect my single RCA wire to? Thanks!

It's left and right analog canal. Both needs to be connected if you want stereo.

Like I said, you need to connect BOTH with an RCA to AUX cable.

Got it now - thanks very much mate!

BTW - the “fix” to get sound to work after trying various combinations was to power off my devialet phantoms- reboot WIIM - power of devialet and voila.
