That's no proof though.
You can use Qobuz Connect from your Windows computer but still use Qobuz through Googlecast from your telephone. A screenshot from the WiiM Home app's now playing screen would be helpful.
But even when using Googlecast the music shouldn't stop immediately after killing all background apps.
I don't think this issue is really related to the Qobuz streaming service. A better place for this topic would be a troubleshooting sub-forum.

The first screenshot is taken from my Zenfone in de Qobus app.
The second is what the output option say on my laptop at the same time.
It's just a bit strange and was trying to understand it.
The same thing happens on my Android phone.
When I cast to the WiiM from Qobuz app with Qobuz Connect and exit the Qobuz app, the music stops.
(But it is a Free account.)

Forgive my off topic intrusion, but how do you get a Free Qobuz Account?
I tried the 30-day free offer, but cancelled my subscription without continuing, so my free account remains as it is; I can only listen for 30 seconds per track.
I think @Wiimer means they don’t subscribe. You can sign up for a month’s free trial - just make sure you cancel the subscription within the trial period and don’t opt for an annual subscription when signing up or Qobuz will take the payment with little or no chance of getting it back even if it’s done in error.

Ah, that's what I have as well. I thought maybe they had a new option.
Yes, did that and then cancelled. Spotify seems to be the best option currently if you're not paying a sub.
Are you task killing in batches?
If so, locking the Qobuz app will not stop the music.

Yes, that's why I had asked for a screenshot from the WiiM Home app's now playing screen as this would have clearly shown if either Qobuz Connect or Googlecast is in use.
I don't use Qobuz, so this might actually be the solution. If they designed their app to explicitly stopp casting activities on connected devices when closing the app, then that's it. It's an unusual approach but it's up to them.
And in this case what @Wiimer said is the easy solution.

To be honest, I'm not sure if this is a issue with WiiM, a issue with Qobuz, or if Qobuz is doing this intentionally. I wanted to try it on my Yamaha AVR, but it not supported QobuzConnect!

Did not read the whole thread so hopefully you pardon me if this is already mentioned. In IOS it behaves as I would expect. Killing the app does not stop the playback.

There should not be a difference as long as both your native Qobuz app and the WiiM Home App/WiiM streamer have the same sample rate settings (high-res enabled if you plan to listen to high-res).

No, the streaming is the same. Directly between the Qobuz server and the WiiM. The only difference is what app started it.
I found no difference -- Qobuz is still sending exactly the same signal directly to your Wiim streamer. It is only a difference of which app sent the "start playing xxx..." command. That said, I've ready plenty of comments on several "audiophile" forums where people are claiming a vast improvement in sound quality with the Connect app. I put that in the same category as claims of hearing vast differences between various audiophile cables.
In summary, Connect is a fine app. It's biggest advantage is that can switch from player to player without stopping. You could even go to a friend's house, and if they have a Qobuz Connect ready device, play music from your Qobuz subscription on their stereo even if they don't have a subscription. The app's big drawback is that it is of no use if you want to play music from your local collection, listen to internet radio or from another streaming service. In my book which app you use is entirely and only based on how easy it is for you to select and play the music you want to hear. Zero to do with sound quality.
