Qobuz Qobuz Connect released

One more comment -- after using Connect for a couple of days, I think the oddest deficiency is the extra step needed to reach the volume slider. The screen that shows the album cover lets you play/pause and go forward/back or even adjust where you are in a track, but you can't adjust the volume until you select the "device" screen. Easily and quickly adjusting volume is a high priority for me. The other oddity is that the device screen is often very slow to populate.

I understand that some people like the ability to play music from their Qobuz subscription on someone else's stereo. That might be a nice feature at a stereo store if they had compatible equipment available, but it has been several years since I've done that and the last time I simply bought in a USB stick that had thousands of my favorite tracks on it. I still prefer the Wiim or LMS apps for selecting and playing music on my home stereo, though I am happy for Qobuz that they've finally officially released the app they've been working on for several years now.
We can imagine that this app will be improved and debugged in the future....

Again, Qobuz are just doing it the very same way that Spotify does it.

After the exasperation of the long wait, it seems that those who have access to it seem rather satisfied... should relaunch Qobuz (in the minds of many around me it was associated with a rather qualitative offer, even quite present in "classical" music) we will see the returns over time ;-)

even if there will always be dissatisfied people and inevitably things to complain about... etc etc
;-)

Using the app with Qobuz Connect, I had one slight hiccup when it changed to the next track on a gapless piece of music. I couldn’t repeat this though, so maybe just a glitch.

Is Qconnect available with regular subscription only, or even with the 30sec tryout?
After last update I got a fast single message about availability of it but I can't remember what it said...

Doesn't Qobuz Connect use the phone hardware volume controls?
Good point. However, that isn't a habit that I've ever formed for managing my music playback. As someone else noted, Qobuz Connect is simply Spotify Connect for Qobuz, and I've never used Spotify. Therefore, I have a lot of old habits that I'm very comfortable with that make Connect a bit more awkward for me to use. Meanwhile, the other advantages of Connect that others have pointed out are rather meaningless to me. The net result for me is "meh" -- I think I've reached the conclusion that it doesn't offer enough improvement for me to go to the work to change my existing habits. Summarized, its like that line from the old Sly & The Family Stone song - "Different strokes for different folks."

One thing I missed dearly from my days playing ripped CD’s on my mac Mini via remote app was the favorites overview grouped by artist. The WiiM Home app on iPad and phone shows my Qobuz favorites in a vertical column at the left, not using much of the screen space.
It is now a little better on the iPad app. The iOS app doesn’t even offer sorting by artist :cautious:.
However, the mac interface is vastly improved when running connect and I can now reclaim my alphabetical-by-artist ordering of the albums, like the CD’s and LP’s in the shelf, as shown below.
With a music-loving spouse, the synced experience is also a huge bonus when selecting music for the queue.Skærmbillede 2025-05-12 kl. 08.55.50.png

Qobuz seems to be able to use Qobuz Connect only with my Pro Plus. Not with my Ultra. Anyone know why that may be?

What’s your WiiM ticket number for this? Post it here and we can try asking @RyanWithWiiM to escalate it and find out why you’re stuck on an old firmware version. As has been said, it’s not been unknown for devices to have been whitelisted for a particular version by mistake.

Thanks for your help. Which number are we after here? I have previously been on the beta program so that may well be the case.

Sorry, there was a very recent query on Facebook where the OP had raised a ticket to WiiM to remove them from the same version they appeared stuck on. If you can’t get the latest update, try touching the version number under your device info to see if it’ll take you off the beta you’re on. If not, try switching to any other beta then revert that. If nothing helps, then submit a ticket to WiiM to ask if they can put you on the latest public version which does have Qobuz Connect.

You seem to be right. Upgraded to beta. Currently switching back to non beta and it looks to be the latest version. Perfect. Thanks a bunch 🙏🏻

For anybody else who encounters this problem, I just factory reset my Ultra, after which the most recent GA version of the firmware was automatically installed, and it resolved my similar issue.
