Room correction - is there a WiiM backend issue?

I emailed customer support to ask if it was worth me staying on the beta firmware for L/R room correction if it doesn't work with a subwoofer. No reply so far and I am missing out on a few new features relating to subwoofers.
In my case, I send a ticket when I start to lose messages from the team and request to be removed from the whitelist.🤣

If the beta update comes, I will consider joining again.

I could just click the option to leave but I don't think many others are using the beta. Despite all the loud voices claiming it was absolutely necessary to have independent channel room correction 🤣

Oh, yes.
I think there were about 3 participants. 😅🤣

To be honest, I didn't participate it because I'm already happy enough with L/R-PEQ.😄

Did you measure the sub separately when you used L/R PEQ? I get too much bass when I measure L+sub and R +sub.

I have my main speakers connected to the Ultra and two subs connected to the pro.

I used the pro's L/R PEQ and the sub's internal low pass and adjusted the sub to roll off at -24dB/oct.

The main speakers were high-passed at 120Hz with the Ultra's subwoofer setting turned on. After matching the main and sub gains using volume limit, and I ran stereo RC (100Hz~500HZ) with multi-room playback. Finally, fine-tune the volume and other parameters using my ear and mic.

I dont know how to do it right but so far I am happy with the sound. 😄

Edit: I didn't answer your question.🤣
Yes, sub and main were adjusted separately.

Sounds complicated 😀.

I left the beta when the DST fix was announced, so the alarm clock would work correctly on my WiiM Amp. :p

I didn't bot actively leave the individual channel RC beta on my WiiM Ultra, but it installed a new firmware on its own the other day. 🤷‍♂️

Edit:
I'm still using the L/R PEQ settings created with the beta RC process. :) No sub connected to the Amp, though.

I've left now. I still have saved PEQ settings.

I have a 9th gen iPad running iOS 17.6.1 and room correction doesn’t work, stuck at exactly the same spot. Rebooting the pro plus and the iPad doesn’t solve anything.

Exactly as described before, the “next” button does nothing (the graphic screen of the stereo system)

Yes. It works with other devices…not the point. I want it to work with the iPad. I’m trying to determine if the iPad will give different results. All the other devices provide different curves. Btw I rebooted the WiiM after reinstalling it…same problem.

Send feedback to WiiM then. I would have thought an iPad was a fairly common device to use for room correction.

The purpose I said if you another device to try to determine if other also fail to complete. I’m using the latest iPhone 16 pro max and if I run using same curve I get different frequency being adjusted on each run. There were no adjustments aside from running it second or third time to see if match previous frequency. It’s the server that does the calculation get us different result. In my observation, iPhone has 3 mic but the mic on back where the camera gives me the best sound quality over the bottom or front.

Fair point.

Your best bet might be sending feedback from the WiiM Home App (available on the Settings tab). This will include device logs along with your request.

However, the first thing they might be telling you if there is a bug is to update to the latest version of the WiiiM Home App and iPadOS. iPadOS 18 is available for your device.

Still doesn’t work with iOS 18. Something strange though, the WiiM firmware is from July and I know that’s not the latest version. Yet when I check for updates, it says I’m up to date! I think that’s because I asked for a rollback to this version when I was having problems with my station presets not working. Now I’m unsure…if I try to update, will I go back to my original problem? And I don’t know how to update anyway…this computer crap is a real pain
