Something Big is Coming to WiiM Home

Not a lot, just links to the WiiM home page and forum. Didn’t I post that yesterday? I meant to…
Are you referring to #59?

But the "Settings" icon is dark on that screen as well. (I thought Now playing was selected.)

Sorry, this is what I thought I had posted - as usual, I was probably distracted and went to do something else and forgot.

Yeah, it’s only a very early version so who knows what they’ll add there - maybe settings to tailor the display akin to the Ultra screen settings?
Personally, I don't mind not having a device setting, but I would be happy to be able to switch between persistent groups with 1 click. Maybe Presets and Recently played will probably be added soon 🤔🙂.

Edit :
The app for the Ultra screen does not allow for multiple device management, which is not what I expect from a TV app.

I thought initially that if you double tap the album art in the WHA it would go full screen but I was wrong. It automatically goes full screen after some duration. I wonder if in the future you could add a toggle switch to turn full screen on or off. Thanks WiiM great work as usual!

If displaying album art, etc. on an OLED TV, isn't there a risk of static image burn-in unless the app includes some pixel shifting technology?

If you were to play the same album on a loop for 20 hours. 🤷‍♂️

No seriously, you have a point. But burn in is no longer as big a factor on OLEDs as it used to be, and it was a tad over-stated to start with.

As long as you're not daft, you should be okay. But yes, something to keep an eye on.

Just my thinking, even if you use this feature a lot, your TV will be getting most use as a TV. I've had a 55" OLED for about 7 years now, and my go-to channel, when there's nothing on and I just want something in the background, is BBC News. Obviously, there's the clock and banner, and these did indeed cause a little burn in on my old plasma, but after 7 years, no burn in on my OLED yet.

So unless you only use your TV as a monitor for your WiiM, play music all day, and have it in torch mode, you should be fine.

If you are indeed only using the TV as a monitor for the WiiM, I wouldn't use an OLED, I'd buy the cheapest LCD of the size I wanted that I could find.
