Spotify spotify connect not working

Today I tried to listen to Spotify through Connect, but it doesn't work on the Wiim Ultra.
It works perfectly on other devices instead.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Followed wiim troubleshooting instructions, restarted modem and device, but nothing to do, it only connects through google cast

Prior to the iOS update, Wiim Ultra device switching was successful in the Spotify app.
I can't find the device in the soptify app after updating the ios.
Only connecting comes out.

You can connect to the device through the wiim home app.
When connected, it comes out of the spotify app and can be operated,
I have to do that again next time.

I don't know if it's a problem with ios, wiim home, or spotify app.

I also tried to initialize the wiim ultra device.

Same issue here. Since the Spotify update 9.0.18.604 (10.02.2025), I see my Wiim Amp but I can't connect to send music.

Whereas I did the opposite!
Couldn't get spotify to connect to a C10 (didn't try any of my other wiims) so changed the connection (in spotify app) to use chromecast and it worked flawlessly (if not gaplessly ).

Same issue here, with the Pro Plus. Tried resetting to factory, but alas. Spotify connect is very buggy through the spotify app. through Wiim home mobile app spotify connect works, but through the mobile spotify app, it won't connect. Connecting through spotify desktop is also very buggy and practically doesn't work. It worked fine up until ~8 hours before this post.

What exactly do you mean by "through Wiim home mobile app"? All the WiiM Home app should be doing is starting the Spotify app. You still connect from Spotify, not from WiiM Home.

Seems that Spotify Connect is no longer compatible with WiiM devices since the latest Spotify app version. Hopefully it will be restored at some stage.

We recommend using Google Cast as a temporary workaround to stream Spotify on WiiM devices. We’re currently collaborating with the Spotify team to address this issue and hope to resolve it as soon as possible.

Ok, in this case Spotify is already connected to your WiiM. The WiiM Home app can not directly enforce a Spotify Connect session.

Just indirectly, if you have saved a Spotify playlist (or a single title for that matter) as a preset. Is that what yo did? If not, the the Spotify Connect access must have at least temporarily worked before.

If I still missed the point, don't hesitate to say so. There might be another workaround I didn't think of.

Same issue here since two days. Can’t connect from Spotify app. At first rebooting the WiiM seemed to work, now I can do a workaround by starting Spotify through a preset on the remote and if I’m lucky I can change what’s playing through Spotify. Seems like new Spotify app version on iOS issue

Pretty serious bug this. Same here. No Spotify Connect via Android 14 mobile connected to Wiim Ultra. Hope you fix this fast.

Yes, but it's 100% Spotify's fault and not WiiM's. Spotify has messed up Spotify Connect before and sure will do it again. I've gone back to the previous release of the Spotify app and will just wait until they get their crap work again.

Same on iOS 18.3.1 with Spotify 9.0.18.548 and WiiM Pro Plus running 4.8.704531. Switching from Spotify Connect to Google Cast is the temporary solution for me.

A reboot of the WiiM helps, but switching source one time gets the issue back. So Google Cast it is for now.

Ah, thanks everybody. Was about to go insane, changing network settings. Only a reboot got it back, temporarily. Then saw the three dots next to WiiM and saw I can pick. Glad it's working with Google Cast. Cheers.

I've found that you can either go through the Spotify app and google cast it, or go to open.spotify.com in your browser (I use Chrome) and actually connect using Spotify Connect as before. This is consistent between ios and Windows 11, app does not Spotify Connect, Chrome browser does

I have no problem doing Spotify connect to my Roberts radio so this seems to be an inconsistency between Spotify app and Wiim products only. Hopefully Spotify put up a fix soon
